Even though this manhua is 'based on true story', the author still has the right to do her own interpretation. Unfortunately, many readers are having difficulty to accept this manhua. May be because we are familiar about who Princess Diana was and her tragic life. Since the first page, we can already found something to criticize. It's not hard to draw Lady Diana because she was indeed very beautiful in real person. But we were surprised to find the character of Prince Charles is nothing alike coughtherealpersoncough. And he's riding a horse to go to Diana's house. Just how many shoujo manga draw historical figure as bishounen? Take for example, ushiwakamaru/ minamoto no yoshitsune. Was he handsome in real life? Doubt so. So bishounen Charles should be no problem...
In the end, i think writing Diana-Charles's love story is not a good move from the author. Theirs is a complicated relationship full of twist and angst which end up in tragedy. Yet, she made this manhua as soap romance story. Should have made Kate-William's love story if she wants to write a good love story and people will be more accepting. 🙂

after seeing all these bad reviews i feel compelled to write something good about this story but before that i have to rant.

why are all these people so upset that it's "historically inaccurate" or they're "insulting the real princess Diana". Are you serious people, it is a MANGA. if you want to read about the real princess Diana, go read a biography.

now for the actual review. i rather enjoyed this story, if you take it at face value it is a pretty good read, unless you really dislike the crybaby heroine thing.If you forget that this is supposed to be based on a true story i think you might enjoy it too

Actually I'm still reading this, as long as I try to fool myself and think that that characters aren't real people, it's an ok read. But if your reading this as a historical reference, then I wouldn't recommend this. A lot of facts are twisted, characters are also inaccurate. But really, as I continued reading it, I've started to naturally forget that they were based on real people. Georgie's story actually made me teary eyed. But I still wished they could have just made a different manga with fictional characters.

I tried to give this a fair shot, I really did. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the majority of views here. It's difficult to enjoy the story completely because of the way Diana and the royal family are depicted. Even more so, perhaps, because the western world has it's own images and ideas of what Diana, Charles and the royal family are like, especially with what is portrayed in the media. It's so hard to take a story seriously, for example, when we compare 'Prince Charles' in the manga, who looks like a handsome white knight straight out of a romance novel, to the 'real life' prince Charles, who is... considerably less good looking. The overdramatisation in the story dosen't help either.

Honestly? for me, the manga would have been far better had they kept the story but made up the characters and changed the names, because I've read similar shoujo's where the characters are purely inventions of the mangaka's imagination, but enjoyed it alot more than I did this. To be fair, if you like dramatic and angsty shoujo's and can suspend your disbelief, I would say go for it. The art is pretty and easy on the eyes, plus the characters are not to bad, in their own angst-ridden way. On the other hand, if you are looking for an accurate portrayal of the story of Diana, I'd be more inclined to avoid this like the plague.

I couldn't believe this and read the first chapter out of curiosity but this is actually insulting and so inaccurate I'm not sure where to begin. I'm English and old enough to remember Princess Diana so frankly this is just in terrible taste all things considered and I dropped it immediately. It seems to be an attempt to use her name to make money with no regards to actual facts. Don't waste you time on this one, if you want to learn about Princess Diana then there are hundreds of better accounts out there.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this. I had to download a couple of chapters but I couldn't bear with it. This is just too awful to read, not to mention how ridiculous is the character portrayal.

i think that they just wanted to make money from those favourite names.....
i have never thought that someone can make up something so embarassing.... 😀 god, i had to stop after first chapter what i don´t do normally, normally i give every manga a chance and i read at least 2 chapters...

to be honest I find it rather tasteless just let her rest in piece and not turn her life into some thing it certainly was not! it was not perfect she was not perfect no one is! I'm so glad that its never reached us over here in london other wise I'm sure this little manga-ka would be in a bit of trouble!

agreed with cytoonmyface. i read the first two chapters and couldn't stop laughing and continuing the series. i know they're trying to romanticize her life, but at least they could keep the facts straight (like personalities and what not)! and the person seems to forget how prince charles really looked like (like his huge ears, i'm sorry but they're just so noticeable). the mangaka even tried to villian-ize camilla parker bowles in looks and drawing diana as this amazing angelic woman! just so evil, i feel terrible for her. i know princess diana did amazing things in her life and i truly admire for them, but come on man. the way this manga portrays her is so...weird.

and someone please fix the summary. it's too laughable. 'how she had sex'. really guys?
