I generally like Est Em's soulful and somewhat 'moody' style but she kinda missed the mark with this one imo. The main story's separate chapters feel just a bit too fragmentated to form an emotionally cohesive narrative, and the characters themselves seem detached from their own story partly due to how indifferent they're drawn to look most of the time. Second story is quite weird (you'll get it if you read it) so I'm glad it ended as quickly as it did; third one is fine in nature but it was too brief and passed by a flash, so again not much to say there. All in all I've read better from both the mangaka and her contemporaries.

I love how the first story came full circle. The whole theme was being on the inside vs. being on the outside, and I like how the story started and ended in the same way, with one of the brothers returning home and asking to be let in.

Second story was a little strange, but felt poetic. Third story was short and sweet. It didn't need to be romantic. It felt like a snapshot of a great relationship between roommates enjoying their youth.

I love sensei's work but I couldn't stand that there was no clear resolution for all the stories in the volume. It's a Manga I shouldn't have to draw my own conclusions! Otherwise it would have been a perfect 10 because I loved it all.

Lovely art, lovely writing. The only thing that took it down from a 10 to an 8, for me, was that the main story ended sort of abruptly (to me), which was disappointing. But overall, a gorgeous manga.

Yeah pretty sure the one star ratings are just from general Yaoi haters or something.
Cause it's just not possible to hate everything about this manga no matter what.
I loved it! It was artistic, emotional, mature and serious. It's not perfect but that's okay!
I only wished it were longer.
Art is great as usual; if you look for something more adult and not the typical cute yaoi stuff then read it!

The one star ratings are an accident or out of malice, right? I don't think anything est em touches could be worth one star. So far this is not my favorite from her, but it is a poetic and adult version of a very tired trope. I have no doubt that she has put an entirely different spin on it. Lovely read.
