Alright. So, I even made an account to talk about this disgusting thing.
I firmly believe that any rational human being would probably hate this. No offence to anyone who liked it, but please allow me to say that it was HORRIBLE.
I think it started off good. There was a kid with an ugly family situation; abuse doesn't have to be physical, it's emotional as well. His parents didn't even talk to him, didn't prepare him meals, didn't wash his clothes, didn't acknowledge his existence. I actually believe he was pretty strong, not having ended up worse.
I accepted the teacher's approach because I had in mind that I was about to read the story of a sick and twisted love affair between two people with no sense of rationality, BECAUSE OF THEIR FEELINGS. What I got was no sense of rationality because of... I don't know. I guess it was simply stupidity. I'm referring to the writer's stupidity.
We start of with the rape of a student by his teacher. Let's say that the student was being swept away because there was already something lingering in his heart and he hadn't realised it. We then proceed in a good pace, seeing his family situation, his feelings, his loneliness; how his family locks him outside of the house for an entire week. We see how he reacts when he's treated with kindness for the first time in years, how he battles with his feelings, how he decides to accept his homeroom teacher's care. Then, we proceed to the event that leads him straight in the clutches of the predator he's trying so hard to avoid, yet unreasonably hungers for, to the point where he gets hot for his impending second rape. That aside, they hit it off. And the kid's elated by all this, he's trully happy. So, when sweet homeroom teacher takes him by the hand and drives him home to have a chat with mommy, who had been shunning her son for so many years for the most stupid reason possible, and has now regreted her actions, the kid can only think of his teacher.
Let's just say that confusion(which was his grave, not just his epitaph) and underlying feelings led to an acceptance of the situation. Let's just say he wished for love, and thought he had found it. However, the teacher who claimed to love him to the point of insanity cheated on him with a fourteen year old girl on a night with shiny moon, for no apparent reason. Literally, they were together, getting it on, having secret meetings in the math lab and all, sharing sweet kisses. But oh, wait. The teacher's jealous because the kid talks warmly with the homeroom teacher who took care of him, and with his female classmate who's sorta helped him many times before. So a middle school girl walks up to the teacher's door with condoms, and he just cheats on the lover he wanted so much he had to rape to be with. And the next day, when he's confronted about it, he acts as if he did nothing wrong, and everything was perfectly fine. He just had sex with another person and there was no harm in it. Oh my, I feel tears strolling from his overflowing love!!! Not. For once, I thought he was about to get what he deserved. But no. The writer juuust wouldn't do us the favour. The kid left him, but after an undefined period of time, the teacher ambushed him at school, at a place where anyone could have seen them. And guess what happened? A little pressure, and the kid forgave him.
Then, bam! The sweet and kind homeroom teacher gets in and sees them hugging, and takes it as a joke. 'Scuse me, what? He took it as a joke, instead of being alarmed? I see. Okay, let's say he's really just oblivious because he's just become a daddy. Then, he touches the student's shoulder. The creeper of a teacher gets jealous. Then kind teacher touches the student's head. The creeper gets even more jealous. So, he just goes and says how he raped the kid so many times to the other teacher. Who does what? Looks the student in disgust. Seriously?! He just admited rape! Of a minor! Who is his student! These are three offenses, two of them criminal, PUNISHABLE BY LAW! But sweet and kind homeroom teacher just walks out, and avoids the student as much as possible.
And the student does what? Accepts the creeper. Who is a criminal. Because... They only have each other. Right? But wait, didn't the kid's family start to feel like a family again? Nope, no. That was just a dream!!! Right.
So, my opinion? At first, I loved it. I loved how the kid was confused and suffering, I could feel his pain, empathise with his emotions. His family situation brought tears to my eyes. I loved how he started to warm up to people. I even accepted how he came to realise his emotions so suddenly. But then everything went downhill.
That teacher should have grovelled, he should have gotten on his knees to beg for forgiveness. Still, he shouldn't have been forgiven; he should have been put to prison. Jaaail! He had sex with a 14 year old girl, and he raped his student multiple times. Love as an excuse couldn't stand anymore, because clearly, if he could cheat so easily, then there was never love to begin with. He just realised there was an unstable person he could abuse, and went in for the kill.
I started reading this believing this was a story of love, instead it's the story of a manipulative and deranged a**hole, who uses, abuses and mistreats a sad kid for his own satisfaction. Perhaps if it had been more developed, if there was more credibility to the reason behind his years of suffering in his home, or if the teacher had actual reasons to feel spiteful and hurt by his student lover and had cheated with someone at a more reasonable age, it would have been better. But none of that happened, and it's simply horrible. I wouldn't suggest this to one. There are much better love stories with similar, if not the exact same theme.
