Being honest, I went to this novel expecting it to be a smutty yaoi with a bad plot with a student-teacher relationship. Something like Bewitched in this Sweet Trap (Novel). But it was a lot better.
The plot. Well...I liked the plot. Now now, I agree there's a lot of plot holes, but at least the author tried to write something special. The mix of family problems, being a loner, sleeping with older women for money and being raped by his own teacher...she didn't have to mix all these and in my opinion it would've been a lot better if she focused on one thing and developed it rather than including all these. But again it was good. The psychological aspect of it was really unrealistic but we can pass on that.
Characters. I can say that was the worst part of the story. Starting off the main character, Jun Shiiba. He's our usual loner protagonist. Possible spoiler here, so you've been warned. Shiiba has been shunned away by his own family making him lose all his confidence and point in life. He passes on his time looking for people to give him the warmth he's missing from his family but at the same time he doesn't want people to pity him. Now our second protagonist, Tetsuya Sasakawa. He's this Buffy arrogant guy who "gets what he desires". I never liked him. why? Because his actions make no sense. After raping Jun and making him his pet, he suddenly confesses to him but at the same time he sleeps with other people...wait, WHAT?! yeah, exactly! Not a very likable character at all. Other characters were all mehh. Nothing special to talk about. There was no character development what so ever which pissed me off.
And yes, as the others said the ending felt super rushed. As if the author just wants to wrap things up and make a happily ever after ending.
The art, that was the best part. It was beautiful. Specially Shiiba, he was really pretty and at the same time not girly, my favorite 😀
Sasakawa was ok. Too Buffy but it fitted his arrogant character.
Overall, would I seriously suggest this to someone? No. But...is it a good read? Yes. It really depends on your mood. If you don't like rape, don't read it. But if you're looking for something to kill time, go for it. Like a said, depends on what you're looking for.
An overall rate of 6.5.
