The art is some of the best I've seen in any manga, but the story could've been better. The ending especially was lackluster.

This one was pretty frustrating because it tried to be more than it was but lacked severely. Had it just been about a "barbarian" discovering a new world, it could've had more focus and been better for it, instead, it jumps around, fails to really build up any memorable characters and... ends. Axed.

The biggest problem though was the art.
The MC looks like a himbo for the most part - a cross between Disney's Tarzan and some cheesy mullet-haired, pumped-up Romeo (see: Fabio).
The artwork also comes across as too gay/BL at times, while using chibis at others and worse: has blurred action sequences all too often, so we have no idea what just happened!
Still, it had nice colours, so a lot of kids liked it.

At the end of the day, although this had so much more potential, I can fully understand why it got dropped by the team behind it.
But at least they were nice enough to close out the 2nd series (as cliché as it was).

If you enjoyed Vinland Saga, you will likely enjoy this manwha.

An action manhwa about the adventures of a barbarian warrior roaming through the world in a medieval setting. The pacing is great, the story is original and, even without any major unexpected twist in the first season, it's never predictable. The story has recurring themes, such as the nature of religion and faith, the beauty of knowledge, its value and the price for curiosity, accompanied from time to time with brief reflections on fanatism, on friendship, maturity, responsibility or ambition. All of the aforementioned themes are always treated with great care and maturity as their expositions progressively acquire more and more depth, never causing the manhwa to stray from its action essence.
The artwork is fenomenal and so many characters are just wayy too hot. It's mostly males because there's few female charcters, but when there are, they don't loose to the boys.
The action sequences are truly impressive, both in terms of aesthetics and of realism: the tactics, the techniques, the weapons, the armors actually working as they should, this all fills me with joy. More in general this is one of the most realistic depictions of a medieval setting that I've ever seen in fiction. The absence of firearms even has a lore explanation, as basically [<<MINOR SPOILER:>>] [spolier]the Atlantic stands between Asia and Europe[/spoiler].

Every single chapter is great.

Edit: was axed (with an axe fighting scene lol). Real shame. I do appreciate however they didn't rush towards the end and simply ended it at a spot that would make for season conclusion.

The beginning (first 20-30 chapters) is very rushed and fragmented, but it seems to calm down eventually.
Though the plot holes in the earlier chapters kinda become more apparent when the pace slows down a bit and the author sticks with one chain of events for longer.

It's not terrible though. It's just not very good either. But it's something you can read to pass the time while waiting for new releases from better series.

- I love how this manhwa gets deep in aspects like Like the meaning of faith, Philosophical, responsibilities and manhood. The author has an immaculate understanding of conflicts and aggressiveness eh between people and knows how to write characters well. Not to mention the art is so beautiful and gorgeous! The characters feel real. Not just logical and rational, but flawed and true to their feelings, easily swayed by the weight of their emotions and only resisting them through believable struggle. Whether the character in question is conscious of it or not, everything has context, every thought, every statement, every action, it's all influenced by their history, beliefs, circumstances & experiences.

What's it like to be the strongest warrior of your tribe and see a world your brothers never imagined existed? It's amazing to go on the journey with the MC. He grew up in a hunter gatherer tribe (in the premise) and sees for himself beyond the mountain range: the many kingdoms and the empire of this world. The story shows us the perspectives of the many cultures and peoples he meets.

The MC's personality is interesting. Outwardly his battle prowess, fights, and loyalty are admirable. Inwardly, we see his enthusiasm to discover the unknown and the profundity with which he questions the realities of war and death. The battles are exciting and I've never seen gore leave one both awestruck while still being aesthetic.

Seconding the points whitespade made below. I like that there's no system or cheat codes. There's actual language barriers and different belief systems. Aesthetically it feels like the still photos version of a cinematic epic.

If Conan was 19 and taking Intro to World Religions for the humanities credits 🙂 - but in a fun way. The art has some really shining moments. The barbarian warriors spend a lot of time sexy posing.

The art is something that will soothe your eyes. Admittedly, the backgrounds are more like photos rendered to look like drawings, but the characters themselves are drawn. The MC is just *cheff kiss*

I like the fact it is just a straightforward adventure with no isekai, no system, no golden finger, nothing. Our MC's personality is outwardly straightforward and charming, but his inner world is rich and questioning about the reality of the world and the after life.

And no don't listen to the comment below it's not BL. Our MC is very handsome but it is not BL.
