I really love this manga, I just love it. I recently read Crows and it just added so much more enjoyment for me for this series. I love the action, the fights, everything about it. I love the character designs especially, finally a manga with no bishonen!~

Who cares about female presence? It's one of the very rare one where there are no girls, you can read any other if you want romance.
Anyway I agree with last advice (Forgivewhatyoudo)

Funny manga.
1. No girls, but its not about romance, so it doesnt matter.
2. The characters' body are pretty much all draw the same, but the story largely makes up for this little flaw.
3. Character development is kept to the minimum, focusing on the event and making each development more meaningful.
4. They don't show them training, which is great, cause who wants to see a guy practicing his taekwondo.
5. You dont see them talking to any1 else. It keeps the story simple and focused on the main events, which is great cause the story doesn't start flowing away from its main objective, unlike in many other mangas.
6. The fights are great because they are more than just punch and kick (and they dont explain every little moves they do like in holyland, thank god.), it's the importance of those fights that makes them interesting.
Finaly a good shounen that doesn't need cheap romance or ecchi to make it interesting.

Crows was readable due to its redeemable factor being that it was more comedy than Worst. A LOT more comedy. Worst tried to be "serious". Which it failed utterly at.
1) No females, but that's been mentioned 10 times here already.
2) Every character has the same roid-induced body structure drawn. Even the "weakest" guy, who constantly got bullied, had foot-wide biceps. WTF?
3) No character development. We start out with the main character. He's strong. He meets other guys, they're weaker than him. One guy beats the main guy. Ok... Are we told of the main character's past? Why he got strong? No. Does the main character get stronger? No. Does ANYONE get stronger than anyone else? No.
4) That brings me to the fourth point, NONE OF THEM TRAIN. EVER. IN ANYTHING. For people whose life seems to focus around fighting, none of them get better at fighting, and none of them TRY to get better at fighting. WTF?
5) It took me 5 volumes to realize they actually go to school. I guess that's my biggest beef with this manga. Any good manga should have interaction between different levels of society, and different levels of power. In this manga there is nearly NO interaction with regular citizens, teachers, or school kids. We can only compare thugs to thugs. To thugs. To more thugs. It gets annoying.
6) The fights don't get more interesting. Apart from the fact that they don't train or get stronger, the fights remain unbelievably simple throughout the whole manga. The fights in mangas like Holyland get more advanced and technical as the manga progresses. In here there's... Uppercuts, straights, hooks, kicks, headbutts. Those are in volume 1. Volume 10? Uppercuts, straights, hooks, kicks, headbutts. Are the fights explained? Nope. But they sure look badass, eh?
I stopped reading this roid-induced sausage fest about 10 volumes in, after decided the next 10 volumes will be exactly the same.

This manga has somewhat realistic fights, cool looking thugs with masks, bruises, scars, bats, steelpipes etc. No firing weapons at all, only fist fights with extras. The clothes don't seem to be outdated, no weird haircuts, and the strongest guy in town has an afro, who would have thought? AFFFUUUURRRROOOOO
2 thumbs up....

i love this manga......this is one of my favorites types of mangas and it's done right for a change
you got a strong, lovable main character (although goofy)......and lots of good supporting characters, with plenty of character development
and on top of that, you got a seemingly basic plot "fight for the strongest, fight some more, and some more, till you're crowned as the best" which is in fact pretty deep, and plot heavy, and it's constantly evolving with it's drama, tragedy, and it's gang politics
to make a long story short this manga has it all.....Characters, Plot, Art, Drama, Action, Emotions and Comedy......all in all it's dope as hell, i'd say everyone should read it and especially those who enjoy delinquent/yankee mangas
btw.....it is kind of weird that there hasn't been one single female character, but whatever s'all good

Like Hamori Takashi, Takahashi Hiroshi's works are all the same as his own previous work, Crows, QP and Worst... The different between these two are the girl character. More than a decade pass by Takahashi still couldn't draw a girl character but Hamori can do pretty well with it. However, Hamori's story lines are more flattern though... Anyways, if you have read his previous work then there isn't anything left for you in this manga, unless your are a Takahashi's huge fan...

What worries me the most is that the mangaka is unable to draw girls.
I think I saw only one girl, and it was a shadow (!), and even though pretty badly drawn.
It would not be a problem if the manga was only about fight, but since the toughest guy is a womanizer, it's pretty hard to believe that without having any drawn girl !
The mangaka solved this problem by using guys who are girls (the 'sister' of the landlord).
About the manga, I laughed only once during the first 9 volumes, so I got bored. I'm still amazed by my own endurance.
If you like fights, I largely prefer Change Guy.
4/10

Never would have thought that a manga about (non-bishie) boys would interest me this much.
Worst is soooo good! It's pretty much about teenage delinquents kicking each other's butts, no super powers or complicated martial arts, but they still look super cool. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the mangaka introduce a bunch of characters at once, which leaves me a bit confused for a while, but you get used to it.
