Great adaptation of an equally great webnovel

I read the webnovel years ago when I first got addicted to the 'saving the villainess in an otome game' genre. Generally I prefer it when there are male protagonists in an otome game and subvert the plot that way, but I came across this one and it was an Ensemble cast so was close enough (pure shoujo with female protagonist is too much for me).

So yeah, I loved the webnovel back in the day, and was really impressed with all parts of it: how there's a couple of normal teens as the 'frame story' part of things, and the meta plot dealing with both the 'otome game world' and the real world, as well as the otome game part of things. Pretty much all the characters are adorable, with much fluff, and yet there are real problems and things don't go as we might wish. I guess it boils down to: not pure slice of life, actually has conflict which drives the story. (which is a good thing). The fact we have color commentators that the Prince can hear is really great, because it cuts out the misunderstanding trope from the tsundere. It allows the entire cast to appreciate how adorable the villainess is as a tsundere, without the awkward period of thinking she's a cruel heartless b****.

On that note, my only real complaint is the absolutely stupid lengths the tsundere will go to deny reality. If you look at it one way, it's cute (that's the appeal of the tsundere after all, watching them go dere), but on the other hand she has a completely unrealistically low sense of self-esteem. I've met people with depression and low self-esteem, they have nothing on this girl.

While it's not so say it's impossible I guess, having a character that requires so much suspension of disbelief makes the story harder to read. Part of the reason I can't read 'pure shoujo' is that I feel like all the cahracters are ridiculous, and need to be smacked. I find myself rolling my eyes at the melodrama and poor decisions. Call shounen stories unrealistic and formulaic if you will (and they are) I actually find throwing fireballs to be more realistic than shoujo protagonists lol.

I loved it. Pure cuteness with an interesting plot. A nice twist on the otome game genre. Highly recommend.

The concept may be new, but the concept itself makes the story fall flat. It's supremely anticlimatic and the tsundere is cute was only cute the first 2 times. Then it gets extremely repetitive and annoying. The "commentary" is pointless, and I can't really feel any interest in continuing to read because there is like 0 tension.

A refreshing new tone to the isekai genre. No actual character is reincarnated into the otome game, it's just that one of the male leads can hear two people playing the game and thinks they're gods. All the characters in the otome world are what you expect, but none of them are annoying or cliche. As of now there are only 9 story chapters and it's very exciting.

The interesting thing about this manga is that there is another plot going on with the teenagers playing the game. They have their own romantic subplot and a deep connection as well. It's nothing too out of the ordinary, but it's cute and heartwarming. And their interaction with the game is not just surface level, they truly care about the characters.

It seems that there may be trouble brewing in the real world that might affect the game world...
