story's moral is questionable

cheaters in BL always cause a story to get downrated here, no matter what. me, i don't mind per se; it all depends on what's being done with the cheating.

and here not enough is done. takanaga makes akira too easy to hate by not giving him any redeemable qualities to make up for the cheating, loafing, and money wasting -- he isn't at all conscious of it being a problem at the start, but that's just not enough, especially since he does continue it even after he realises that it hurts kouta; his personality is simply oblivious to that hurt being real -- until he experiences it himself. i don't like him; he's just that sort of unobservant, irresponsible, hedonistic user who can really get on your nerves -- unless you're one too. kouta is basically a solid, nice guy, but he too has issues to work out -- namely that his plans for the future never take akira's wishes into account, and that he continues to demand he work on getting into university even when it becomes very obvious that akira simply is not cut out for it, and doesn't want to.

takanaga almost manages to save this one, with both kouta and akira realising that they need to change things about themselves if they want the relationship to survive. but IMO it never quite gets there; akira is too over the top to be redeemed that quickly. and -- while it's realistic that a person wouldn't entirely change their ways -- it's not particularly fulfilling in a BL manga. akira remains carefree to a degree that makes one wonder whether he actually will be faithful. and kouta ends up revolving his entire life around akira -- again, it makes sense because he is that kind of person, but i am not sure i consider this a positive development.

I'm really sorry but this is probably one of the worst yaoi manga that I've read. I can't believe that Takanaga Hinako wrote this (No disrespect intended to Takanaga-sensei). I was really frustrated reading this, I thought Akira would have change after Kouta had an accident and got hospitalized, BUT NO.
Akira didn't get into the university but instead he became a famous actor instead, oh and he even asked Kouta to drop out of school to be his manager, of course since Kouta is super smart and loving, he did dropped out of college for Akira. Akira pretended to sleep with a producer to get a role but in reality he had some hard core sex with a girl, still a cheater huh.
Gaaaaah the only reason I finished the story was because I was hoping for a character development, sadly it didn't happen.
Akira is such a fckng cheating a**hle (I hope your dck falls off) and Kouta is so st*pid.

I am also a fan of Takanaga Hinako-sensei, so I was actually reading in the beginning of the manga. It was terrible from the start, but eventually I just started skimming very broadly and I still felt very irritated. I guess I just don't understand Hinako-sensei's sense of humor because being cheated on all the time is not at all funny and even in the last page of the manga the uke is still cheating on the seme. That's just not right at all... the uke is one of the most annoying manga character I have come across and he does NOT deserve the seme in any way. Seme has to grow some balls and leave the uke.

Tl;dr
I usually end up skimming mangas that people comment NEVER to read because I get so curious. This is one of those mangas. Take my advice and skim from the very beginning if you're considering reading this manga. Actually spending more than 10 minutes on this volume is a huge waste of time. It's absolute garbage. Plotline to me is actually on par with hentai, except there's less sex scenes.

This is the worst yaoi I've ever read and I mean it. Not only the yaoi genre, it's the worst of the worst manga I've ever read.
One guy is totally serious and so devoted while the other guy cheats on him like it's a natural thing. He doesn't even think that it's wrong. He spouts nonsense like " Sex with a girl and a guy is different You're the only guy I will have sex with!" and 'I can't help going out with girls because I'm still young, it's something I want to do'. And he continues to have sex with girls behind the other guy's back like it's totally normal and that ends the story.
I mean what the heck was that. The moral and common sense of this story are to be questioned. It left such a bad taste in my mouth. I wish I had never picked it up.

Takanaga Hinako, what happened? It's safe to say that I totally regret reading this manga. I really love Takanaga sensei and I'm a huge fan of hers, but this has to be her worst work yet. It's definitely a huge disappointment. I didn't expect something this bad from a great mangaka like her.

The characters are what ruined it all for me. I really disliked Akira's and Kouta's personality, so there you have it. Akira was a rude jerk and Kouta was just dense and naive, an utter fool if you ask me. I'm thinking anyone who's read this would agree with me. And it's hilarious that basically everybody hates it.

The one mark I gave this manga was purely for its art alone. Stay away from this one.

Well, I understand it a comedy manga thus not to be taken seriously.
Still, I have to say that I didn't like it that much and the way Akira acts just rubs me the wrong way.
It's a bit too morbid to be funny, especially since the main character is obviously hurt and doesn't take it all like a big joke either...
I liked Kouta as a character (at least at the start of the manga), he was adorable but Akira was just one big FAIL.
As it is, I'd say it doesn't work as a comedy, it doesn't bring across the pure comedic view on serious topics like infidelity, lying and simple bad characters.
I'm not saying that comedy cannot handle big topics like that, but it has to feel funny when you read it, like you just cannot take it seriously and it makes you laugh with the way character react.
That's totally fine, but here, you just feel really bad for Kouta and you start hating Akira for being a jerk constantly.

Too bad, because it was interesting seeing one of Takanaga Hinako's earlier works but well, the story wasn't mine so I skipped through it pretty much.

Only points I'm giving are for the art.

I'd only recommend this to die-hard Takanaga fans or people who don't mind the main character constantly being hurt and abused in pretty tasteless ways, and the general attitude that "because it's a comedy, it's okay".

I have to say this is the only manga from Takanaga Hinako that I don't like at all. I mean Akira keeps sleeping around and Kouta still works hard to be with him? I don't get this kind of thinking. The only good thing about this story is the artwork.

I liked the manga but it pisses me off that Akira still sleeps with other people even after they "get together". I would've liked it so much better if he actually stopped sleeping around and be faithful.

(Probably spoilers ahead) Akira is the most selfish guy I"ve ever read about in a manga. Souta is so cute, devoted, and in love with him and Akira returns this love by sleeping with girls behind his back like it's normal and forcing him to quit his studies and become a manager for his new whim of wanting to be an actor. He only ever even sleeps with Souta when he wants to or when he's not with some other girl and he doesn't even let Souta say no. This is the stupidest thing I've ever read! I know it's supposed to be a comedy, but it's really not written in good taste. I can't get behind someone being so selfish and expecting everyone to cater to every one of his whims and desires.

Especially the end! They'd been dating for SO LONG and it ends about how Akira "had hardcore sex with a girl" when he was away from Souta for 2 months. What even?! How can that be funny?

I cant even describe how pointless this yaoi is. Nothing changes. The uke is still an douchebag and big cheaters, the only thing changes is the seme somehow immune to cheating now (?). The title is the opposite of the story, one guy who ignored his education got famous easily and one guy with good head gave it away to serve a jerk. I really questions the moral of this manga. This is something people should NEVER do. This is totally unhealthy and probably full of STDs.
