A metro in ikebukuro has become an rpg-esque dungeon in a future where the world has been ravaged by a fungal apocalypse. A man from our time awakens 50 levels deep in the dungeon with nothing but his wits and some odd fungal-based powers to keep himself alive and claw his way back to the surface.

Interesting premise right?

Unfortunately, the series is obsessed with testicles. Yes, you heard me right. Balls, bollocks, dangly bits. The fungal spores are constantly referenced in a manner reminiscent of genitals and the monster core that must be consumed from fallen foes to grow stronger are referred to as fungal genitals. Worse still, the mc early on gets a companion who is a talking squirrel. Not only does this squirrel feed into and make jokes about said testicles constantly, it quickly becomes romantically interested in the mc and constantly flirts with him and expresses a desire to mate and marry him. Not a squirrel girl, a literal squirrel.

I would love to see this premise go to literally any other author because any promise the series showed was quashed by the neverending juvenile and downright weird "humor" it tries to interject.
