A spin-off from Akai Ito no Shikkou Yuuyo.
Kaoru Kamisawa doesn't have your run-of-the-mill job. He makes his living by cutting ties for people by literally cutting the invisible string that connects them to each other. One day, he meets Hara, who comes to him in desparation to get a woman to stop stalking him. Hara is a little skeptical at first, but gradually starts having feelings for Kaoru. But, Kaoru knows it won't last. His special gift also robs him of his own "red string of fate" that connects a person to the partner they're destined for. Kaoru tries to keep Hara away, but... I absolutely loved the Akai Ito no Shikkou Yuuyo manga~ so when i found this spin-off about Kamisawa (which i wanted to see) i had to read it right away!!!
What i found was characters whos pain felt real, the string parts were interesting, smut was ok, no love triangle yay, touching moments, cuteness & fun..... BUT aside from some predictable parts, i had one problem,.... WHY didnt they have their red strings connected with each other in the end?? Wouldnt that be perfect?? Or is it just me?? Lol

The underlying idea behind the story isn't something new, but its execution coupled with the desparing premise of being 'the only person fated to end up alone in this entire world' did wonders in breathing emotions into the manga. The angst felt real and I was hit pretty hard in parts.
Now I won't say that the manga is perfect because it isn't, particularly in the second half and how the way the climax was handled lessens the impact of all the drama preceding it. Made it feel rather generic and predictable for me.
But!, for what it's worth I still enjoyed reading through the whole thing. I'm glad Kaoru got his own story and the happiness he deserves.
