I regret reading this.... its one-shot what can i expect...im hurt...i want more....
Plot-wise it's pretty standard but that's okay. I don't really mind that since the art is narration of the story are good enough for me.
Also, a lot of people seem to taking issue with the "gay for you" line but it doesn't seem that out of place here because it would be presumptions of me to categorize how one should expressive their love for another. I would have liked it if they had been more clear cut about it but matters of the heart never are like that, so for me it was a nice touch in this setting.
(BTW I am familiar with this line in other manga as well but it doesn't always work so well if the story isn't set up to support this kind of conversation)

Kyuugou's artwork was and has never been categorised as pretty, and this one-shot is no exception especially when it was produced when the mangaka was still relatively new to the job. However she's really good at capturing the characters' raw emotions, yes sometimes they're not pretty, but they're in all aspects very real and authentic, and I really appreciate that quality. I also like the story here despite the fact that I've come across countless ones almost identical to it plot-wise. I guess there's something about it that makes the chemistry much more believable and you can't help but root for the characters in the end.

I don't know if the deal here is really as simple as "I'll be gay for you exclusively" as it is, or if we're missing some layers of meaning that naturally follow the twirl of emotions we can only expect Nogi to be going through. In the end of the day, the story is pretty inconclusive. We don't even get to know for sure if they end up as a couple. Nogi wants Fujiwara to know he accepts him and his love, but this "homosexuality" thing is news to him. He feels pressured to label himself perhaps --- they both do --- and hence comes the "let me be homo then, but for you only" thing. It even things out, it eases the mood and it more or less settles the whole deal so that they can go back to the rooftop and resume their daily life.
It sounded reasonably enough for me to close the page with a smile on my face. On the whole it was a very cute, warm tale of schoolboy love and friendship and discovery. I quite liked it.

it was sooo cute~~ but man how much did i cry for so small !! when i saw his hurt face it was too much for me :'( *ouin* *ouin* but i really recommande it !! it's really good, too bad just 1 kiss !
I liked some aspects of this. First off the colored opening was beautiful and the art, though it wasn't as good throughout, wasn't bad either. The characters were likeable and I liked how Kei was a bit of a bad ass... Wonderfully emotional and angsty but still realistic without needless über drama.
One thing that irked me though was that "gay for you" justification. Maybe it's possible for a completely heterosexual male to develop sexual/romantic feelings for another man but I'm sure that would only happen under some pretty extreme circumstances and that it would be quite rare. So if you have a crush on your friend who's a boy too, that makes you if not gay then at least bi.

The first three pages of this oneshot are the most beautiful color illustrations I have ever seen in a yaoi manga. This story is also very good. It would be nice to have a follow up chapter, but this works very well as a oneshot too.

I absolutely LOVED the part where one boy confessed his love which led up to the line: "I'm okay with that!" being blurted out by the other kid. It's so realistic, poignant, and pretty much unexpected. Most mangas would have: a) reciprocated love ("I just realized I love you too!"); b) boy B running away in disgust; c) sex scene right away. I'm so happy it was different from those scenarios. It was brilliantly played out :D
One of my favorite one-shots of all time. Wonderfully written, beautiful artwork. Very touching, and very genuinely emotional. It's a BL with a simple story, but it's subtle and realistic.
And before you know it, you'll have a big smile on your face.
I'd recommend this story to anyone.
