I never did enjoy the strange mix of shoujo and smut, as it not only messed up the cute and fluffy shoujo aspects, but also ruins the erotic moments that come with full on josei-mature mangas.

Instead of taking the best of two worlds, this series was cursed with the worst of both. it was cliche like the typical shoujo, and it was shallow like a B-rated josei. And along with the bad moments was the constantly horrible art.

The art alone was a huge turn off for me. 🙁

A Solid Compilation

Haruko Kurumatani writes smutty shoujo. There. Now that this is out of the way, I shall review this particular volume of smutty shoujo she has created.

The main story in this volume ("Boy Rascals") is awfully cute. It's nice to see Haruko Kurumatani write a manga about a DECENT guy and not a total jerk. I like it when her male heroes are actually likable guys. This one is. The girl is likable, too... especially with her "super power" adding comedic moments. Overalll, this is one of Kurumatani's better works and I quite enjoyed it. There's also an extra one-shot published in "Honnou Motto Midaretai" entitled "Jonjou Bousou Honey". If you like this story here, make sure to check out the epilogue one-shot!

"Erotic Times" is a cute story about a sex-starved girl and her studious boyfriend. It's nice to see Haruko Kurumatani's usual set-up (pervy guy, innocent girl) turned on its head for once and the tables turned. That's probably why I like this one-shot as much as I do. It's very cute and a nice complement to "Boy Rascals".

"Boy Revolution" reverts back to the usual Kurumatani recipe of forceful pervy boys and wide-eyed girls who were never taught how to kick a guy in the nuts. However... This story makes that scenario work somehow. The male protagonist is young and cute and sort of gives off the vibe that he's not really taking it all so seriously. He also knows when to back off and when to push it a bit further. And that makes a BIG difference. I thought this one-shot was actually pretty cute. Smutty... and cute.

Overall, I think this compilation is a solid work. There's much to like here for Shoujo fans, and better offerings than usual for Haruko Kurumatani fans. I like her work when it's good... and this is definitely good stuff.

I admire the different opinions that we all have and you have my word that i would be your ally when it comes to sharing thoughts. However even i have to admit, some people take things a tad too far and i have to say, i'm going to have to agree to our otaku under me>shelleymallow.

I think the mangaka has done a amazing job and worked well to add to her growing collection. But whilst i think this, i have to accept others who think differently from me and it does become tough.
But whom other than yourself has the right to judge whether something is worth reading or not?
Tis just like anime, when you stumble upon a very wier- no i mean 'unique' anime, you think to yourself, how in the world did this show began to air? I mean, there must have been a specific amount of popularity if it became an anime.
So don't strain yourself and read it.

But lastly you must also watch what you are saying shelleymallow.
You may speak pride and truth but that truth may not be the truth that others seek.

I'm not actually getting why some people are acting all disappointed with the smut in the story.
I will admit, if there wasn't smut, the story would have been no different and possibly even better, but get your eyes checked and use your brain!
If your so high and mighty about your disaproval, your all just fickle. Can't you read the genres tagged for this manga?
People should watch what they write because it could make others repel against your opinion.
If you don't like smut, than don't read it. It's simple as that and if you know the story line is good but has smut, its not the author or artists fault for creating something that you don't like.
But then again, the world doesn't centre around just you - there are other people who may actually like it.

Anyway onto the pleasant side of things =] This manga is hilariously cute and trust me, i would know because i'm an otaku who wakes up at 2 in the morning and reads manga for hours and falls asleep for 3 hours before waking up for ANIME!

But I''ve got to congratulate Kurumatani for another excellent manga. I actually read this 3 years ago but reread it just then and i think its great. Yea, the smut is not totally necessary in this story but it adds to the entertainment when two lovers are constantly ínterupted' by pure coincedence..

No spoiler will be added because you should just read it.
And if you do not like it, that is fine, make your say for isn't that why we have a blog spot and commenting collumn? It helps the mangaka to know what people like and what others don't.
BUT don't go rampaging to others that it was terrible or totaaly useless when they may think differently:V

Did not get past the first "chapter" of this manga. The art seems a little bit amateur (though the hair is nice, the faces are too boxy with eyes too large) and the plot is just kind of silly. Not only that, but there's just obviously too much smut in it. If you like unnecessary smut, however, this might be for you.

There's no doubt that it is a smut......or should i say it porn......if u looking for romance........i think u should just let it pass........There's some ugly scene like sexual harassment and attempted rape.........
i wont' recommand it.......i finish it cuz it's short...............
God...being a girl is sure dangerous...........
