While this manga wasn’t bad it wasn’t all that great either. It didn’t catch my interest. There were some great things going for this manga, interest behind the powers and how they worked, mystery behind where Hasumi’s mom is and some held back information, I felt the manga wasn’t as good as it could have been, and wile it didn’t disappoint me the manga didn’t stand out to me and was only ok.
Plot- The plot was all right, it was actually quite interesting and at first we knew very little about the powers adding some intrigue into the plot as we gradually learned more about the powers. However at the very end one issue about the powers wasn’t resolved or even explained.
How did Hasumi get rid of her powers? Why couldn’t she come right back to Yuuro? How come she now has new powers? Nothing was explained!
The plot about Hasumi trying to find her mom seemed less and less important as the story went on and seemed only to be there to give a reason as to why Hasumi is in this town and why she hangs out with Yuuro and his twin (this seemed especially true when we got the rushed explanation as to what happened to Hasumi’s mother).
Characters- I sort of liked the characters, they were nice enough characters and weren’t too bad, but the leads bothered me a bit. There was always something about their character that just didn’t match up. Hasumi is about justice and helping others when they are in trouble (or at least she was in the beginning) so I didn’t quite understand why she used underhanded methods when dealing with her dad (lying to him, sneaking out) it didn’t make sense with her earlier character. Yuuro was quite rude to Hasumi whenever they disagreed or something else happened that Yuuro didn’t like, he would either yell at her to go away or he himself would ignore her, many of these times I didn’t get his reasoning behind his anger or why he avoided her and it seem kind of strange, and as I said before, rude. So as long as Yuuro wasn’t mad/angry/upset with Hasumi he was a fine character.
Art- The art was fine, not really my preference in art but it was still really nice, cutesy and with a lot of roundness in the drawings, it really fit the story line.
One Shot- There was a One Shot at the end and like the rest of the story was only ok and I didn’t really understand the girls reasoning’s behind her decisions and actions.
Other- This story had a few clichés, but that wasn’t what bothered me, what bothered me is the predictability of the plot, there were many times I was expecting what came next, and after just one chapter I was already beginning to suspect (and in the end was right) about what happened to Hasumi’s mom. I can’t say I enjoyed this manga all that much, but I didn’t dislike it either. I can understand why many people enjoy this story a lot but for me it just didn’t hold that satisfaction. So if you’re interested in the story do read it, I really can’t recommend this story or not since I don’t have a definite say on this manga.
5/10 – Was all right
