Well, i just read this a while ago and the scanlations svcks. Fvck MTL. But anyways, despite the wrong translations— this manhwa really made me tear up, it’s what you call “very heart clenching”. I dont blame the characters for their decisions and ro be honest, this captures what humans tend to actually feel when pressed with this kind of situation. I saw a comment saying that Taejoo’s(?) love— the ex boyfriend of our mc, doesn’t mean anything since he couldn’t wait 5yrs for Yoon(the mc). I totally disagree with this. What’s wrong for thinking of your own pain? Haven’t heard the phrase “love yourself”😕 Imagine loving someone so dearly then oneday they stopped being in your life?? Like poof, gone, nada, no contact whatsoever. Being you, you would first choose to wait and then look. But when it gets to the point that you realize how your love for someone is causing more harm than good. Isn’t it better to let go?? Isn’t it right to move on with our lives?? Not waiting for someone long enough till back does not define the gravity or the weight of love you have for them. Remember, love is not selfish— but, it is also not something that we should take away from our own selves.
And so, i dont think Taejoo’s decision to enter a relationship and choice to move on— was wrong nor was it a proof that his love didn’t have any meaning because, no love should be greater than the love we have for ourselves.
Also, i liked how they made the character of Taejoo’s current boyfriend(forgot his name, hate to admit it but he actually got in my nerves a lot)— i liked how realistically they portrayed the extent of human anxiety. He is a very complex character for me, he’s manipulative but sometimes not. He’s obsessive, that im sure of. Ang tbh i liked how his bad personality is what makes him the most human character in the story. I entirely believe that not a single person in the world aint selfish. His selfishness and greediness to claim Taejoo was very evident as he wished for Yoon to die instead of coming back. I mean i dont know, since im not sure if the scanlation was correct but like, it was worded of as something that makes the current boyfriend blood boiling.
Thoughts on Shin Kwon? The fubu of great Yoon. UHm not much to say— he’s an asshole but like not an asshole too. He’s a so-so. What i like about his character is that one moment he manages to show he cares then the next— he becomes colder than Queen Elsa. I’m hoping that will realize he likes Yoon more than just a fvck buddy. All in all his character feels quite cliche to me🤷🏻♀️
LAST ONE!! I also loved how they built Yoon’s character. He was actually quite relatable. He says he’s selfish, but then the next second he aint doing something selfish. He a kind dude. What makes him relatable is that, sometimes, i tend to do what he does— thinking how a bother i am to someone and wishing for something so much later on labelling myself as someone selfish but then i’d walk backwards again— not even attempting to get what i truly desire. For me it’s not a cowardly act. Yoon’s character shows us what most of the people after break-ups are. I also like how he never lets anyone trample on his belief and pride as a photographer. He’s very passionate and very committed to his profession. Though he mentioned how he regretted not backing down at being a photographer and just stay by Taejoo’s side in the past— he stood up and held his camera again saying that even though he hurt taejoo badly(because of his work) he will still continue loving photography— for Taejoo’s sake.
