Good start with mediocre ending

Reading this doesn't give me that much of an emotion. I dont feel sad, depress or happy. It's just bland after giving us such a great start. Actually shit turn to worst when the author introduced the

cacoon It should just continue with the survival theme. But no hate for the MC and other main characters tho. They are likable.

They had a great thing going until chapter 85

Everything was going perfectly, the pacing the characters, everything. Until chapter 85, chapter 85 introduces these colorful characters which imo derails the whole momentum of the plot. They are not really likeable, which is understandable given their circumstances. However they are then play an integral part of the plot, while they do get some character development. The whooe series start feeling like a slog fest at that point.

If they had removed chapter 85 and the following chapters, the end would have still made sense regardless. They really gad a great thing going until that point

My first time ever gave a manhwa 10 star rating. I don't regret this. Seriously. The story is so so so good and the art made me feel like I'm there, fighting the monster together with Hyun and the gang.

I don't typically read horror stories, but I gave this one a chance after I enjoyed Bastard, and was initially decently satisfied with it. But the story never properly explains why the disaster happens, at which scale it has affected humanity, or the range of possible outcomes.

At one point, we're told that

humanity's ... souls ... rebelled against them for ... reasons?

Unfortunately, that doesn't explain any of the supernatural stuff.

So the story ends with some characters alive, and others dead, but with none of the big-picture stuff resolved.

Great Characters

I don't know why everyone is calling the MC a loser- maybe that's what he starts off as, but he is far, far from pathetic. I was rooting for him (as well as many other likeable characters) the entire way. I don't usually find myself cheering on the protagonists of this author because they are all purposely portrayed in such an unlikable fashion, but Hyun is great. His character growth is fantastic and his willpower and empathy is outstanding.

Just the right mix to make a good horror

A good mix of horror, action, and suspense. Really knows how to keep your tension up the entire duration you're reading. Has a diverse cast of likeable characters with some nice depth. Now that it's complete you won't have to wait for any cliffhangers. I personally just spent 8 hours reading this right from chapter 1 and am now writing this.

An older review makes it clear he/she didn't read the webtoon beyond the initial chapters because the protagonist undergoes drastic changes throughout. If you like horror, action, drama and complex characters then this is for you.

I love sympathetic loser protagonists – as long as it's not bland, or harem or something.
This is far from bland.
Kudos to the author for the vague synopsis, because it's much better going in cold.

The worst protagonist

Manga is well known for have a loser, pathetic male protagonists, but this guy is unbelievable. Not only is he pathetic, but he also lacks any intelligence. Reading something like this is not easy when you can’t find one reason to root for the main character.
