Oh my god. Where do I even begin with this story… I'm gonna be talking about the LN in addition to the manga with this review because they are both great and the manga follows closely enough.

First off, it is super hilarious. It is like a way more silly Overlord. It follows a guy who is SO disillusioned by his Chuunibyou-ness that he is brilliant but the DENSEst dude ever. He wants: “To be a Power in the shadows” and is slowly achieving his goal throughout the story. Because he is a chuunibyou he makes up a story about the revival of the demon king. This turns out to be true, however, he just thinks that everyone is also being a chuunibyou with him and doesn't ever realize. He's also one of the most powerful beings ever but doesn't brag about it, instead, he uses it to put himself in situations that he thinks is “cool” while we the reader laugh and cringe. The characters are all likable and there is some great action too. 10/10 I hope this gets an anime.

I don't understand people complaining about how edgy our MC is, it's the entire point of the story! If you don't find the parody funny or whatever then I understand, but I absolutely love it.
Good pace, funny characters, and fun plot.

Imagine a dude all about the mafia underworld grim tough guy aesthetic.
Who was so chunni, that reality started to go along with it.
You now understand what this manga is about.

At first it’s funny and still is throughout, but then it picks up into this plot that manages to tie in his chuunibyou with an actual and serious issue. It’a a diamond hiding in plain sight.

Agreed. This is a really engaging and funny series. The series doesn't take itself too seriously and pokes fun at the genre and itself with great comedic timing.

Give it a chance, it truly is one of the funniest manga's I have ever read.

This is a great comedic story about misunderstandings and obliviousness, and about doing the right things by accident. The art can sometimes be a bit rough; and the NPC fight scenes get a bit repetitive; but the core premise works really well and makes up for any imperfections in the execution. Cid is just a really fun and unique protagonist to read about.

This is one of the funniest manga I've read in ages!
Mixes OP MC with great, complex story. It's very funny and with an intricate plot that is simply explained in a few chapters. Great stuff, can't wait for more!!

lots of fun to read

After chapter 47 it diverges from the source (the source material had a zombie ark that was left on haitus). The ark that comes after is great, but in recent chapters the MC almost doesn't appear and the story has gone downhill (ch 46-47). It isn't echi but the story has devolved into something formulaic with the side-characters constantly blabbering nonsense. Adding the fact that the story comes out monthly I'll probably drop it for a while
