In my opinion, Demon Slayer is a great manga! The story is simple but very effective!
The anime pays tribute to the original work very well.
And there's a third film coming out soon! Can't wait!
I do a bit of cosplay and the quality of the character designs is inspiring!

I tried to avoid Kimetsu no Yaiba because it was huge and I didn't want to jump on the hype train and get disappointed. There were some seriously popular shounen I just couldn't get in the past.

But then, somehow, I ended up on Manga Plus which offers the first three chapters and I read, and I really liked it.

Thank Goodness I came in and didn't expect it to be a masterpiece. How do you define a masterpiece anyway? Kimetsu no Yaiba is just warm, fuzzy, honest, earnest and very much to the point. It gives so much feel but doesn't make them seem cheap. Tanjiro and Nezuko's siblingship really anchors this whole series for me. I didn't understand why most everyone was in love with Nezuko. Now I agree, she is just the cutest rice ball. (Or maybe mochi?)

The art and style also help a lot. Is it revolutionising? No. But Gotouge-sensei takes their stance and makes it memorable. And they seem really genuine and passionate as well.

Everyone has their own cup of tea. I truly enjoyed this journey and will be revisiting some time in the near future.

The spin-off, albeit by another author, Kimetsu Gakuen! is adorb and fun too, if anyone yearns for this manga just a little bit more.

Sparked my joy again

I know not everyone is going to agree with me. However this series sparked my love of manga and anime again. I had been through a rut in life and things were not going all that well for me and when I got my hands on this manga I was immersed.
The story got to the point. The author didn't get sucked into the same Shonen jump curse like Bleach did or other super long every WINDED series. Sure some lore and arcs for training is all and good, but I quite enjoy the A to B. The characters compliment one another and all learn and grow. Tanjiro becomes more decisive, Zenitsu becomes more courageous, inosuke becomes more compassionate.
The ending wasn't what I was expecting, which I think might go better in the anime, (Provided they avoid the crappy 3D which they keep trying to implement into everything.)
I might be just biased as this series gave me the same feeling and joy that my first manga series I read did for me. (Which was sailormoon back when it was the ChixComics (Tokyopop) which also went from A to B as well.)

Massive point reduction for the ending, but that’s because of the most personal preference problem possible.

An ok manga formatted just like your average shounen. You’ve seen the first fight you’ve seen them all.
I really liked the art, which is probably to only reason I kept reading it on and off since it launched.

Ok time to bitch over the ending, strap in:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
May or may not have accidentally seen a spoiler of the last chapter floating online. At first I thought it was fan art, since demon AUs are extremely common. Ended up going back to finish it to check if it was true anyways. Guess how surprised I was to find out that yes, they made him a demon. A really cool one. As a huge monster boy fan I got all giddy and excited, but that lasted less than 2 chapters. The anger. The pain. How dare they un-monster the boy?? HOW DARE THEY???
That’s the only reason I’m so angry. The ending was actually pretty bittersweet, I liked it. I’m just mad the pulled that foul ass move on us monster boy fans ;-;

I kind of hate it when people say something is overhyped.. but this time its too fitting to deny. I found it entertaining/dramatic/fun to read, but I don't think its a story that I'll keep thinking about long term. It was too straightforward to where it felt like I was checking off a checklist as the story progressed. Also, I don't really like the art. In fact, if it hadn't been such a popular series I probably wouldn't have read this solely because the art is not my preference. Although, the character designs were quite nice/unique.

It's nice to pass the time but not particularly good.
MC feels terribly bland and if you ask me the series is carried by the rest of the characters.
The ending was a bit rushed but it was okay.

I honestly don't get the popularity of this, again I'm not saying it's bad but it's certainly not deserving of the praise it gets(imo, agree to disagree). But then again we have stuff like Bleach, Naruto(my fav) and so on...

The art is where this manga lacks the most, at times it feels like doodles, just because of this point in particular I would say this is one of the instances where the anime is better than the manga, because the annimation is honestly excelent.

Anyway, if you just want a fun, nice, action packed manga with a couple of very cliché emotional moments here and there, then you'll enjoy it

The manga is alright not too bad and not too good, however I must say the anime gives you a different vibe but still it's average aside from the Godly animation done by Ufotable ofc and great soundtrack.

The story was great, the characters were likeable and the ending and epilogue were well done. Though it felt like the manga could have gone a bit longer.

The only downside is it seemed like much of the plot was cut short because of the publisher/editor pushing the author to finish sooner. The author makes several unsubtle remarks about this throughout the manga.

I love the storyline and characters. I fell a little disappointed that this manga is not long enough. The end is rushed but it's a happy ending.
