... was a bit 'unfullfilling' in my eyes. Still - Let's start with the arwork. The authors drawing style is likeable and fun to look at. Especially the clothes and backgrounds of the historical settings caught my eye, but sometimes the characters design was a bit too plain to suit my taste. This can be charming, for example if you see the side character Ga-Bi, but sometimes just goes overboard, when the other characters look also plain.
The storyline itself was okay and it was a nice idea to mix the historical setting up with a few modern elements, like the lingerie or the outfit changes (If you read it, you will especially laugh at one scene! Lol.). However, as time goes by some questions just seemed to stay unresolved and the ending was not fullfilling in my eyes. As for the reasons ...
I hardly understand, how the main character can end up with Choi. It was clear from his side, that he had feelings for her and also that Hae-Kang didn't dislike him, but - Why mess everything up and throw hints everywhere, that made it seem like the chemistry between her and the second in line was closer to "love"? It looked kind of like - Oh, right! Lets suprise everyone and chose the good guy, while the other makes finally it's way, just to show again the main characters moody side! I'm sorry, but for me this didn't work out well. It just felt not right - and the implying end of him going to give the other side character (Young-Ah) a try out of the blue made his personality look weak. Even more after seeing, how he was struggeling after being "eaten" by the queen before and slowly recognizing how he cares for Hae-Kang.
So, if I would wish for something, then a second season would be nice, which settles those things nicely!
The characters personalities have been interesting and especially the main characters love for money made me crack again and again, so that's why my rating still comes up to 8.5 and I would recommend it, but don't think it's because of the ending. Mianhae~
