My only near complaint being that the plot twists in some of the stories around the middle were a little easy (for me) to guess, otherwise excellent

This is the ultimate romantic manga. No doubt about it.
To put it like this: of all the 200+ titles i've read, this is the only manga that have made me close to crying, or feeling strong emotions about the characters. The best romantic manga I've ever read!

Much Like The Description

Just like the title supposedly implies; this is a very refreshing read. The stories were very heartwarming and touching. The plots were somewhat clichéd, but that's love for you. There were many original stories too though. It got a little confusing since it skips through various stories in a single volume, but regardless, it was great.

I especially enjoyed Futaba & Yuuki's story that spanned most of the entire work.

Just finished reading it.. The only thing i would like to say is a big "thank you" to Inokuma Shinobu sensei for one of the best, if not the best, romance mangas ever.

There isn't much to add to the previous comments. Many stories, many happy endings, and a few broken hearts, is the sum of the series. Although the story around Futaba and Yuuki is the dominant, the rest are not lacking. A very enjoyable read, i'm definitely going to go through it again, and once i go to Japan (coming summer hopefully) i will certainly buy it.

Short and Sweet

Unlike most romance manga, Salad Days isn't about one or two main characters, but instead a whole slew of them. Yuuki and Futaba's relationship is the most prominent, and their relationship just goes to show that romance can go a long way.

To me, the most enjoyable thing about this manga is the brevity of its stories. Inokuma Shinobu doesn't beat around the bush, he quickly develops characters to get to all the delightful (or heartbreaking) parts in 2-3 chapters.

However, I do have one qualm: way (emphasis on the way) too many guys and girls fall in love with each other at the same time, tell each other about his or her "crushes", and then regret not asking the other out regardless. It's a little cliché where the boy finds out that the girl he likes is secretly harboring a crush on him as well, only to be crushed because she gives up on it when she finds out he also has a crush... get what I'm saying? Yeah, but on the whole, this manga was definitely awesome!

This is without a doubt my favorite romance manga to date. This series could even be used as a guide to romance in one's own life. It covers the good times, the bad times, the hardships, the benefits, the sadness, and the joy that can come with young, innocent, and inexperienced love. If you are a fan of romance then you have to check this series out.

I'd say that this is one of the best romance manga out there. Yes, this is compromised of numerous short stories, and although it gets repetative at times, it still leaves an impression of young, sweet and innocent love.

If your a guy who hates 'too mushy' scenes in romantic titles, give this one a try. Easily enjoyable by men and women alike.

I found this to be a delightful read. With lots a little short stories filled with cameos, it is a lot of fun to read this manga. The characters may sometimes be a little bland, the stories may sometimes be a little predictable, but overall, the series is an enjoyable read. I highly recommend it!
