Not a fan of soccer but...

This is one amazing series. The premise of doing sports for the fun of it relayed well up from the start till the end. The series are short but after reading the whole story I kinda get why it has to be short.

[hide]Instead of exploting the middle school when each member of the team interest started to drift apart, the story continued when the one who pursue the path of soccer get doubts and rediscovering her passion. A refreshing storytelling that stay true to its message up till the end[/hide]

This is a fantastic though quite short soccer manga by the mangaka of Straighten Your Back!. The motif this time is about kids (including a girl) playing soccer, and eventually growing up. For some, soccer is a hobby, for others, a pastime, and for some, a passion.

I wish the manga had been longer - there's a natural progression through the story, but I wish there had been a bit more of an epilogue to the final chapter.

Still, I loved reading this story, and I'm looking forward to whatever the mangaka comes up with next.

This is seriously a great manga. Instead of being a manager, Nanase actually PLAYS and is arguably the ace of the team. She changed the views of the whole team and made them recognize their own talents, making the team stronger than ever. Nanase isn't a helpless, pushover girl with no role in the story (AHEM AHEM GIRLS OF NARUTO). She voices her own opinion and won't back down if she believes she is right. She is the one who has a role in and influences the story and plot. I'm so happy I found this. 😀
Also, the manga has underlying themes of feminism and teaches people to treat women and men equally, as a woman can do anything a man can do. Really inspirational :3
