If you like harem, weak to strong protagonist, comedy, and summons, then this is like the perfect novel.
Let me just say that this follows the traditional storyline where the plot starts off at a small region and slowly expands. Like a small town, then city, then capital, then countries, parallel worlds, and upper worlds. Btw, this is also one of those stories where the protagonist will achieve godhood. It's used a lot but this one is written fairly well.
As for the translations, the upside is that it's translated into fairly good and proper English. The down side is that quite a bit of texts and meanings are lost through the English-ized translations. As a Chinese, I feel bad that the readers don't get the full story but it's better than nothing.
Unfortunately, the manhua is a complete let down. There are quite a few ecchi and mature scenes in the novel. In some brief mentions of sex scenes, where some are described in detail. So, just imagine that retarded looking protagonist in the manhua doing those things. It's just bad.
Here's the original description of the novel as well as my quick translation:
The Continent of Long Teng (Soaring Dragon) is a world where you can only summon; there are neither magic nor qi.
After the transported guy, Yueyang, arrived, he was astonished in realizing that he has a new identity, Yue Clan’s third son, who had his beautiful fiancé break off the engagement with him and he ended up committing suicide by drowning himself. Apparently, Yue Clan’s third son is a tragic guy, as he is publicly known as the most good-for-nothing useless person within the four major clans because, even though, he used fifteen years and he was still unable to contract the Book of Summoning (Summoner’s Tome). On the other hand, the transported guy, Yueyang, he only needed a single day……
When other people are having headaches about contracting combat beasts, numerous God Beasts and Divine Beasts are running to flatter the transported guy by showcasing their lovable appearances with expressions like “I’m a qualified thug.” (TL: "I'm a quality thug, please hire me.")
However, this guy is ungrateful and says “Get lost, just because you’re God Beasts, you think you’re amazing? Get the hell away from me, I only like summon beasts that have the appearances of beautiful women.” (TL: "I only like beautiful girl type summon beasts.")
TL:
Booking of Summoning -> Grimoire (The tome actually doesn't contain any "spells", so not really a Grimoire but Grimoire is an excellent word to use in this case.)
God Beast -> Godly Spirit Beast (Either works, just preferences.)
Divine Beast -> Holy Spirit Beast (Holy is more associated with religions or religious gods, which that's not the case in this case) (Sacred also works as a replacement for Divine)
Couldn't really work out 神兽 and 圣兽, which is "Godly Spirit Beast" and "Holy Spirit Beast" according to Shiroyukineko. I suppose I rather use Divine and Sacred instead as they seem to steer away from religious terms, but not by much though.
As you can see, there's a huge difference with context and "English". My rough translation is nothing but broken English. It is what it is.
