Epic Battle

Beastly art combined with grandiose move and technique will creates an epic battle, yes? N this is the main plus point for Dark Air. In addition, the plot is somewhat mysterious n intriguing, plus the standout rpg-like job class system makes this series become unique as its own.

Hmm... nothing to say anymore, except: I'm waiting for the final battle of MC n the main antagonist biggrin

to make things clear... magic still exists in this story. it's just lacking 'mage' magic... so 'music' magic (aka buffers) and healing magic (shown much later in the story) still work fine n dandy. i was seriously taken aback for the first time when i saw a guitar stop an arrow in its tracks. nothing really lead up to this event as well which made it even harder to swallow at the time. but once you accept this 'little' detail, the story flows nicely. it is a fantasy story anyways that follows the typical final fantasy combat types pretty closely.

this story does have a little case of the villain of the week habits to it when it throws enemy encounter one after another with little development in the characters themselves. but the story progresses forward slowly nonetheless.

overall, it's a decent read for those that don't mind a story with the main focus as action using final fantasy team orientated combat. also it's a shounen, so death to combat ratio is pretty low, similar to bleach.

about the crossdressing element in this story... just consider the MC as bisexual. granted it makes sense to hid his identity and he probably did so for years which shows his experience, but he's always too enthusiastic about it, hence many get freaked out about it when they read it.

read up to chapter 45 and the MC is still a questioning his resolve, bah. but he still has his moments though.

It's started off a little slow, after a few chapters I couldn't stop reading. I read all 43 chapters in one day. When I saw Holy Diver, I put it in my must read list.

Animation is different but grows on you and is easy to follow.

i Completely agree with the comment by " Leos Klein" i really like the art of this manga its really good. in terms of concept its also really cool how they fight and how its like an rpg party but the only and main (for me) problem is the blond main character my god man he is such a pansy its not even funny, seriously he acts so helpness and fruity it pisses me off but i kept having hope for his character because he did have some cool moments doing magic but after the third time he cross dressed for a lot of chapters i was pushed to the edge and itll take a while before i watch this again if i even do. Seriously he cross dresses so much, like the second time he crossdessed he stayed in the outfit for so long it was probably an entire volume i mean seriously if the author wanted a girl lead why didnt he or she just make it a girl. all in all this manga would be awesome if not for the blond lead and i just hope something happens that makes him stop being such a pansy and grow some balls, personally i think he and his personality is the sole reason why this series isnt rated higher

Not Bad

I personally don't mind the main character; in fact, I find him refreshing. It's a nice turn from all the male chauvinistic garbage in action mangas/manhas. The female lead is the swordsman and a good one too. She's the one that does the saving all the time. The main character isn't really girly; in the first 20 chapters or so he cross dresses because he has to hide from various people hunting him down. Around chapter 20 he decides to quit running and cross dressing (for now? haha). He does act like a flop sometimes, but it's mostly for comic relief. From a few chapters so far it shows he's actually quite smart and has a serious and somewhat calculating side to him. (I think he's been hanging around the guitar dude for too long).
It would be nice if there was a bit more interaction between the main characters, but I'm not gonna be picky. There is some and it's nice.
There are a lot of teams, but I'm pretty sure the ones from the first chapters aren't important and don't need to be remembered. There are a fair amount of characters introduced in the first 25 chapters, but not so many that I felt overwhelmed. I have definitely seen worse :/

Bottom Line: Give it a try for yourself and see if you like it. I do.

There are a lot of manga/manhwa of this type. Party of adventurers on a journey, often on the run; succession of enemy encounters; inserted scenes with antagonist rulers in castles; western fantasy setting... etc.

The problem with this one is it's just not very interesting. The party banter is lacking. The characters aren't very entertaining. Not much development between them. Too many enemies introduced only to exit stage left, presumably to be brought back later. The plot is vague.

Also the art is kind of weird around the faces. The protagonist is effeminate, which I usually have no problem with--it's just in this case it's not drawn in a pleasing way.

It does have a nice premise, the world feeling like a RPG is the biggest draw. Nice characters and this has room to go somewhere since it is not being written by a complete hack like IM Dal-Young.

However problem numero uno is the pansy ass boy who is one of the main characters. He cross dresses and likes it for stupid reasons the story can't make you believe, he has the dumbest reaction faces, he acts like a girl in all manners and looks like one anyways.
You would think with all of this said and done the author should of just made him a girl to begin with. He is just terribly distracting and with the story centering around him it just needs to be toned down.

it's alright but i can't stand all the crossdressing i mean he's spent more time as a girl and even when he's a guy he still acts all girly. the guy who fights with his guitar is cool... except for the fact that he fights with his guitar (sound waves). the only all around cool character is the badass chick. that being said there's still plenty time for plot and character development and who knows what might change (dresses on guys, hopefully)

I feel that this has a lot of potential, and I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't into the whole fantasy-rpg elements present within it. I'm a few chapters in so far and I personally believe that it's one to keep an eye on - I really think I'd like to see a game made out of this lol.
