Description

Witches suddenly declare war against humans, causing two-thirds of the world to fall apart.

They summon monsters called "Supporters" and devastate human residences but why?

Survivors gather people with the power to combat the witches and called them Witch Hunters! Tasha Godspell is one of the strongest nicknamed "The Marksman" along with his "Jack-O-Lantern" looking Supporter. He fights the witches but cannot really bring himself to hate them.

to all WH fan and haters.
You see, why each of you forced every single manga or manhwa or webtoons you like must be original?
In Bakuman they say there are no manga is original, they all somehow consiously or subconsiously copy other manga (sorry i don't remember what chap is it). SO NEVER ASK ANY COMIC TO BE ORIGINAL YOU beepker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~(>3<)~~

Issue of Plagarism

Hi people,
so from what I can see a lot of people are bandying around the term plagarism recently in connection with this manwha. Now I bothered to look at the examples of the "plagarism" and noticed a few things that apparently a lot of you guys haven't. Okay firstly, and to me most tellingly, the "same composition" pages are faked. Someones grabbed individual panels from various pages in the manwha are realigned them so that they look like page for page copies of stuff that was done in other works. Just have a look yourself, you can see that the bottom of pages are at the top of the example pages (look at where the page number is, also just look at the different scan quality of the panels). Secondly, if the artist/author had been found to be plagerising he'd have been dropped ages ago, the original post with the "proof" is from 2008.
Lastly, there will be some definate similarities between FMA, D-Grayman, various otehr examples and Witch Hunter. They all have a psuedo european kinda medieval magical world with angsty protagonists doing similar things. Beating up monsters and doing good etc.
Oh, and honestly for the final time, some of the drawing claimed to be copies are of things that are so generic that you would find examples of them in pretty much any artistic work featuring a medieval period. Ask e to draw a castle and my castle is going to look pretty much the same as anyone drawing a "Castle"on the planet.

Yeah sure, this manhwa is pretty interesting. The only big fault with it I can think of, is that i focuses toooooooo much on minor characters like the 3 brothers. It help building the universe, and sets the story, but there are so many meaningless fights... I liked the flash backs, but when they started to fight again and used over 10 chapters on a single fight that was only "I yell at you for X reason" "its all your fault because Y happend". I get frustrated everytime the story goes away from the main character and his supporter, and you can feel a lot of the chapters after the Britain arc are just filler chapters with meaningless fights. If you like meaningless dragged out fights this is the series for you.

I've heard a lot about this manwha "stealing" content from other mangas etc, but thats just stupid yeah sure alot of it look alike. BUT that doesn't make it plagiarism, how many series these days have 100% pure original content? the answer is close to zero.

I think my view will change over the course of the manwha, but as of this moment I'm frustrated on the pace of the story. If you can look past all my critic, this manwha is pretty OK. The story is interesting, the world is ok, and the MC is good. If you like shounen series set in the "Middle Ages" type of world with magic and shit, you should try this. It migth start out as boring, but after a while it starts to get better, then it deviates from it's main path and oh well.

ps: as of today when I write this the current chapter is 73.

This is one of my favorite manhwas... beautiful artwork and intriguing story... every chapter leaves me with a very curious ending that attracts my attention/interest.. I would read this manhwa like 50 times and never get tired of it!!^^

People criticizing have an incorrect definition of what plagiarism is. If you are looking for character development that is poorly executed then read something else. Someone here also said that it is too much like Naruto. That is an utter lie. It is not saturated with useless and meaningless conversation in battle like Naruto. It does not deviate from the storyline as previously stated, since all you are given is that the protagonist is trying to find his sister and their is a conflict going on. The depth given to the protagonist comrade is amazing. It does not let you feel what Naruto does, and that is that the majority of the characters are fill-ins, it makes them feel as important as the protagonist all in all it is beautifully crafted.

After reading these comments I believe most people here don't know the difference between plagiarism and parodies/allusions/homage.
A shame really. Despite the fact that the author is quite open about the influences of other works too. Please think about it. This manwha starts with a trio that does a Jet Stream Attack (Gundam reference). And there are so many other references as correctly pointed out by others. But do you really think the author would plagiarise some of the most famous fictional works so blatantly and think he would get away with it and that nobody would ever notice? NAY. He never had any intention whatsoever to do that.
If you call this plagiarism then you might as well say Simpsons plagiarises too. Please don't be so ignorant. And claims like that won't do justice to this exciting manwha.

you cant really call a story line plagiarised cause after such a history of story telling, every story has already been done pretty much. youd be considered a prodigy if you can think of a story line which has not been done before. the quality of a plot, especially for mangas/manwha's is the development of character

I like this story, definetly not my favorite though.

Im not mad at tthis author for plagarisizing.... I think that most stories borrow something from something else, just because It looks the same doesnt mean anything. I think those scenes that were pointed out have been done in many other mangas, stories, and novels in general.
I think we should lay off a littlle... at least we have another manga to read that we enjoy.

Plagiarism

Sooo. . . I thought how much this was like D. Gray man, cause of the whole organization hunting down people who are out to destroy the world. . . and so I went and googled witch hunter manwha plagiarism (exact words) and what I found shocked me.

Fullmetal Alchemist, Star Wars, Lord of the Ring, D. Gray Man, Berserk, DOGS, and Bleach were all victim to Witch Hunter's plagiarism. There were scenes taken from EACH (including Star Wars and Lord of the Ring) and put into Witch Hunter. Of course they were changed, but not by much.

If you don't believe me so far, how about when Tasha was unable to use his gun during battle? What happened to Ed in FMA while fighting Envy in lab 5? Or perhaps when Aria left Tasha to go with Varete? Did Rukia leave dying Ichigo to go with her brother? Keep reading.

I have read FMA and Bleach, and I have also watched Star Wars and Lord of the Ring. I was appalled at not noticing it myself.

Too much like naruto

The whole shounen genre is plagued with some serious problems. The lack of a coherent story and the focusing on the side characters to flesh out a storyline. It also has the problem of having long drawn out battles and the whole calling out names of moves issue. Some few shounen series do it right and avoid these problems but this one is not one of them.
First this story does have a decent storyline but it always gets sidetracked and changes the direction of the flow so as to add in more interesting little things that can be used to help the author to figure out where he is going with it. Many of the characters are interesting and are fun to see, but then in an effort to draw out the story more he adds more characters and more side issues into the mix so as to make it possible for him to keep writing. The story really has a problem making sense, and that creates more problems in the future.
I guess you could call this manga a battle manga and there are only so many new ultimate moves that you can pull out before your characters start becoming absurd. Of course like any of the other battle mangas example being Naruto, Bleach, ect... we have an issue of long drawn out battles that detract from the actual story. I guess if I was looking for an actual story in a manga I should probably look elsewhere then in a shounen manga, but I have been lucky before to find a good storyline in shounen. Oh well, guess I will try some other genre out again.
