I almost did not give this novel a chance, because there were some comments about the MC being a rapist and ruthlessly murdering for no reason. Luckily, I somehow read it and it was nothing like it was described. First, the MC has many reasons why he kills, the enemies themselves are evil and arrogant that deserved to die. I was actually angry at times when he would let enemies live, and of course the enemies would come back and try to kill the MC, again. The first rape scene, both the MC and female were set-up. The MC was drugged, which turned him into a sexual predator and the female had her powers restricted so she could not fight back. The second rape, there was two females that set him up twice. First, they wanted to cause trouble to the MC by having a third party fight him. Then, the females drugged the MC so one female could benefit from having sex with the MC to take responsibility afterwards. The other female was acting innocently during both set-ups, but she still a hand both times. Both should have been killed, but the MC decided to do something, and raped one of them.

@raptorfalcon "He does not go out of his way to cause trouble" if you don't seriously read this novel, please get out of here, i hate readers who read only the superficial part of this novel where MC seems a good guy but i hate more those readers who didn't read seriously. MC create many troubles uselessly because of his own arrogance and it's something obvious, many readers who likes or dislikes this novel noticed it, and you trying to said he don't cause troubles? Unless you're don't read seriously this novel and skip many lines or you're just a blind guy.

"That" rape scene? what rape scene are you talking about? For those who still didn't read the novel they will think there have only a rape scene in this novel lol, by the way if you think there have really one rape case or two in this novel, you're already brainwashed or just a simple-minded dude (yep i don't think girls/women will read this kind of novel)

This is obviously just a shield plot to protect MC image, if the author don't put a good explanation to turn the bad to good, how many people will drop this novel? If he at least put some bullshits explanation, at least simple-minded reader will think "oh, he saved her! He is still a good guy!" and it's how author manage to erase the bad impression of the MC in your mind.

For me seriously read this novel it's something like notice Jia Yunfeng sudden disappearance after the chapter 50 in Ancient city arc, author suddenly forget this character.

Yeah he is "innocent" and that's why he didn't give a sh*t about her feelings at this moment and said something like i'll take you as my wife along your little sister lol.. moreover it's set-up stupidly by her father and her father choose him a guy pop out from nowhere just because he is a "genius" when normally there have surely many powerhouses who trying to marry with her for a long time (she is n°1 beauty after all). It's obviously a forced plot. Same thing about this "pseudo" second rape scene, he is "innocent", he will always be innocent, he isn't his fault if he rapes them lol... By the way the real second rape is "when the MC had abduct a girl that he insulted and let her raped by an asshole.." (from sufod01's comment)

I'm not sure why so many negative reviews about this series and the main character. Chu Feng is actually quite simple. If you are kind to him, he will repay with kindness and complete loyalty. If you are an arrogant POS, he will eventually erase you and anything that has your genes... Unfortunately, this novel's world is full of arrogant characters that become proof of his new strength. He does many good deeds, but is also completely ruthless to those that piss him off. He does not go out of his way to cause trouble, but when trouble finds him, he brings the hammer down without mercy.

Is he a hero? NO! This is NOT a story about a good guy at all! Is he bad? NO! He just rarely finds people with any kind of moral code and his mentality and temper reflects the fact that he is still a teenager.

Personally, I think his personality is quite more realistic than those goody two shoes MCs that let their enemies live just for them to come back later as either stronger enemies or allies...

As for those of you stuck on that rape scene....

Turns out he actually saved her life by doing it. Also, he really goes out of his way for the sake of saving her and in some way make it up to her.

i totally agree with kirwa, if the mc is going to be evil there has to be something that draws us in despite the character flaws. chu feng had the mystery of his birth and that's it. i made into the 360's and decided to drop it. why? aside from the rape and genocide, its too repetitive for me and the characters are not well written and not fleshed out much at all. the only character i found really interesting in over 360 chapters was the crazy homeless-looking guy who sometimes shows up and kicks butt.
i have no problem with borderline or even totally evil mc if the writing is good enough. wang lin from xain ni is one of the most cruel and ruthless characters i've read in this genre but despite all the horrible things he's done, i still want to like him.i still think he's somehow redeemable and i keep waiting for him to something good. or at least to get a power up that doesn't cause an accidental nation wide natural disaster. that's all down to how the story is written.
theres nothing about chu feng that makes me want to like him once he starts gaining power and becomes an ass. nothing about him i find engaging or interesting; the birth mystery just isn't enough to keep me reading while he wipes out hundreds of people at a go and rapes his way to martial godhood.
all xain xia characters seem to become ruthless and arrogant as they get stronger, but that seems to be all there is to chu feng. that and a hair trigger temper. sadly, when he has a temper tantrum entire clans are destroyed, down to the last child.
so i'm done with this series.
i'll stick to i shall seal the heavens (which has humor) and world of cultivation (money obsessed zuo mo reminds me a bit of weed) and even against the gods (because i want to see yun che keep his promise to jasmine).

You know the part of the story where the MC levels up, beats up w/e challenge forced him to level up, and then spends a few chapters beating up random people that wronged him before the level up? This entire novel is pretty much that exact scenario drawn out over hundreds of chapters described in gory detail. If you don't happen to like that part of the story then you will unlikely enjoy this story -- for me, it's feels quite cathartic.

I stopped somewhere in chapter 100 or so when...

the enemy family/clan truly submitted to mc BUT STILL MERCILESSLY gave the order to kill each and everybody from those family/clan

there are anti-hero, there are ruthless hero, but this novel HAS NO HERO!

IT FEELS LIKE READING A NOVEL MADE FOR JOFFREY BARATHEON FROM GAME OF THRONES!

I dont know what the deal is that it came to have 2300 CHAPTERS but if the people from the country of origin payed for this crap. damn, there could be something wrong with them.. one has to have a very screwed up brain to enjoy this kind of garbage.

a literature made for mentally inferior and soon-to-be psycho killer demographic

I don't really have much to add, you get the gist by reading other reviews. Chufeng is unbeatable almighty human garbage who should've died million times because of his own stupidity but this doesn't happen because of very poor writing and insane plot armor. Gave rating of 3 because this worthless series has one of the best translating groups I've seen, flawless English and insanely fast releases.

I srssly HATE Chufeng. i mean realy he starts as a simple character and then when he gets stronger just starts to bitchslap and bully eweryone. the storry is good but the character ugh i realy could not read anymore im at 350+ chapters.
Some say that he is a badass but i reealy dont like that tipe of characters.

Incredibly Epic

This story is a pretty typical Xianxia. The MC was thought crippled but suddenly has incredible growth.

The fights are REALLY, REALLY epic. You should definitely read this story.

I rated this story a 9/10 because of the absurd amount of plot armor. It feels like every other fight he does something outrageous, someone stronger somes to whoop his ass for it, and someone even stronger comes to protect Chu Feng.

I hate Chufeng

I only lasted so long with this story because I was interested in Chufeng's origins, everything else from the super shallow characters, the unbelievable harem and the endless plot-armor, I could ignore just to learn of his origins but it got to the point were I couldn't take Chufeng's horrible character anymore.

I don't mind Main Characters who are borderline villainous like Weed, Yun Che... If a character is going to be a douchebag, I want him/her to be a CUNNING, INTELLIGENT, HARDWORKING and/or CHARISMATIC douche.

Chufeng has zero good qualities, he's hot-headed to extremely ridiculous levels, completely immoral, egotistic, stupid, perverted, shallow, arrogant and self-centered. I have yet to read any other novel with a character as unlikable as Chufeng!

I like the descriptions of the fights, the plot seems to be headed into an interesting direction but I just can not take any more of the idiotic decisions the MC continuously makes. Dropped
