Description

Kaede is a rabbit person chosen to be the "bride" of a distinguished wolf family. Although he does not wish to marry a wolf, his family pleads for him to go so that they can have enough supplies to last for the next two years. However, how will his new husband act towards a little bunny rabbit stuck in the wolf's den?

I just read other people's review after reading it and I think this manga isn't that bad. Maybe they didn't pay attention to the details of the plot. At first I didn't like how the wolf treated the rabbit. Then I learned that he drink some kind of medicine to suppress his emotions because being emotional can make the wolf tribe back into pure wolf completely and lost their humanity. Being mated with other tribes can prevent the wolf tribe to turn into pure wolf. And after a few conversations, their relationship is developing and they became closer even though there were many misunderstandings. The ending and extra story is very cute. I would like to read other works from the same author.

So I’m commenting basing on having read Vol 1 and 2 of the official traditional chinese physical book. I do get why some readers felt traumatized and bad-bashing this series. First and foremost, most of the readers here reads from free scans website where translation would be a little off-key, I can definitely relate being versatile in Jap, chinese and english,(not native japanese) so sometime what is being translated if different from the actual text. 2ndly, cultural difference vs people that’s reading it in the western culture.. Bear in mind, the author isn’t westerner and by no means it’s for native western readers.. That’s because westerners do stereotype age via appearance. In the world within this series, rabbits are known to looking younger than they seem, even tho the rabbits are smaller in size (isn’t it the same as reality?), as no matter how rabbits (asian) ages, we just don’t look the same to westerners, imagine being 30 and still being checked when entering a club in the states……. So back to the topic, Rabbit and Wolf are the same age…. 16-19 ish…. 3rdly, If the wolf (being return back to ancient wolf), have to be tranquilised, otherwise there’s no more story to go….🤣 Back in olden days, there’s always non-consensual sacrificial marriage or even arranged marriage for various reasons, and it’s not uncommon back in asian days… Cannot use modern standards, when reading non-modern story.

Back to rating the book:- this trope isn’t common, pairing is rather common, but it is really a good read imo. I love how the story developed from Rabbit’s POV and slowly melting the heart of the wolf, and due to Wolf’s rather peculiar genetic condition, he was born a wolf-cub rather than a wolf-human, and that’s the sign of him being a permanent beast if his emotion not controlled properly. Hence his emotion was bad, let’s just say he is someone with low EQ 🤣. The character development of the Wolf is very fun to see… (you will see more of it in Vol 2, when he explained his POV).

The story telling was rather smooth and i did have butterflies on some parts. Both of them are rather sweet towards each other esp in Vol 2…

overall: it’s really good! Can’t wait until the release of Vol 3 of the traditional copy!🥹

this was really good from start to finish especially the display of their progressive relationship. they went from being on unfriendly terms to being a cute, happy married couple. their personalities are also not annoying but wholesome. its overall just fluffy and good development. i would read more of this manga if there was more.

I got pulled in by the wonderful art and the promise of kemonomimi, even though I had my reservations about the arranged marriage trope because it usually involves a serious power imbalance and dubious consent. Let's just say this manga had all of that... and more. Yikes.

The story revolves around this legal shota getting drugged routinely to be "prepared" for mating. He's on the receiving end of sexual coercion and emotional manipulation from first page to last. The first night he's literally forced to drink the stuff (like the seme grabs his face and pours it down his throat), and after that he's basically coerced into drinking it. The seme treats the uke like a fleshlight and is literally a sociopath (he takes meds to suppress his emotions lmao).

Then there's the seme's cousin, who helps the uke finish after the seme abandons him after every "prep session." That's not so bad, right? Except the cousin is basically raping the uke, who passes out (from the drug cocktail he's forced to drink) immediately after the seme leaves.

Like that's not bad enough, there's also an awful instance of hardcore bestiality, where the uke is (once again) coerced into having sex with the seme, except this time around the seme's turned into a mindless wolf. The uke is placed in a situation where he feels like he has no choice but to have sex with a wolf, and the wolf's been sedated, so it's a very weird dynamic where the uke rapes the wolf, but the uke himself is practically forced to do it by others.

Rape is always gross af, but it's even worse when a series tries to diminish it with fluffy pretenses about love and duty and whatever. I'd skip this manga and hope the mangaka's next work is less messed up.

Don't Like Arranged Marriages? Don't Read! Do? Well... it might be worth your time!

I've only read through the first volume and the first chapter of the second volume (the chapters that were scanlated) since I've yet to get my hands on the official English release of the story, so this comment was made by someone with that sort of perspective.

I like reading about arranged marriages and this was a great arranged marriage story! The power dynamics fueled (some of) the drama and it definitely made the behaviours of the protagonist (which were not always reasonable in isolation) seem reasonable in context. That's not something all authors actually nail (sadly) so it's always nice to see good writing in that regard.

I don't particularly like how it felt like some things were ignored so the pace could be kept on the fast side, but I wonder if maybe it got explored more in the Drama CD or in the later volumes? The pacing itself actually fit the story's plot well overall, but some things just weren't covered because of it's fast pace. There's pros and cons, and while the cons don't outweigh the pros, they're just too hard to ignore...!

Not the best thing ever,,, but very enjoyable in some parts.

It's not a modern setting, it's not human setting, and it's not relationship that started via meet-cute. Please set your expectations accordingly.

Also: as of December 2024 the Official English only has the first volume of the story, the other 2 volumes haven't been translated, so if you want to read further than the first chapter of Volume 2 you'll need to read the original Japanese version.

Cute, if you don't like cute I wouldn't recommend. It is simple romance fantasy story with an couple in an arrange marriage ; adorable character deisng and a concept center on a main character entering into a sort "royal" life in order to take care of his tribe . I hope there will be a vol. 2 to show how their relationship and dynamic will develop , I am a total sucker of slice of life so I can't wait to see them a married couple.

Started out rough, the poor rabbit was forced into marriage and the wolf was just a a**hole the whole time. Like he was saved from his fate by the love of the bunny, but he still wasn’t very nice in the end. If you like characters who bully the ones they love, then go ahead and try it.

This is a complete waste of my and your time.

The protagonist looks like a 5y.o. kid. His (rabbit) clan exchanges him for some food since they had a bad harvest that year without asking why the other (wolf) clan wants him. He is sold to be the bride of the wolf-clan's successor. The first night and every single night after that, he is forced to drink aphrodisiacs with alcohol and has his behind trained by his husband-to-be with a lube-like substance that will enable him to carry children. Since there is no alternative for him, the protagonist decides to build a relationship with his future husband hoping that that guy will be decent with time. After some events, we find out that that guy cannot keep his semi-human form at all times and ends up turning into a complete wolf. So, what does the 5yo-looking protagonist do? He decides to consummate their relationship when the wolf is drugged with a tranquilizer. It doesn't get any weirder than that.

I read this for you all, I wasted my time and began questioning all my life decisions. You can just skip it and go read Sekaichi Hatsukoi and 19 days or any other yaoi that would warm your heart.
