Description

I'm on chapter 25 and haven't really been hooked yet. I'm usually a sucker for melodramatic, dark romances with shocking subject matter. Despite the intense topics (abuse, etc) the pacing and characters are somewhat dull.
Dong-hae doesn't seem to have any distinguishable personality or inner life, even in his POV. Su-hyun is more complex, and even has some self-awareness about the nuance of getting involved with someone in an abusive situation, but he's still not very compelling.
Something very dramatic happened in the most recent chapter, but it wasn't much of a surprise, and it wasn't presented in a very interesting way. I hope that the narrative gets more exciting as it goes.
