I think the story had the potential to be a much darker and more twisted story with a more psychological approach to the emotional manipulation, but in the end its execution went pretty flat and failed to deliver what could have been much more interesting than this. I felt this mangaka's art style in particular just does not work very well with drama; it renders any tension in the story into dull, static panels that just aren't capable of conveying very complex emotions. It might have been fine with more comedic titles, but for such a heavy one like this, there's unfortunately a lot still lacking.

It started great with the playboy and the manipulating brother. Until the end, every character turns stupid and messed up.

These characters are so messed up. The seme slept around and played with the uke at first. Sure, he loved him later, but the thought at the beginning is just unforgivable. He later just walked away while seeing the uke having sex with someone else without stopping him. The uke is not such a likable character either. He knew the seme is a player and yet he still slept with him, got angry when he knew he got played. Well, what do you expect? So he slept around to revenge. How smart.

The only thing that kept me interested is the older brother. I couldnt care less about the main couple.

Yamakami-sensei is one of the few yaoi authors that I've loved so much when it comes to reading very touching stories. Along with some of sensei's works that I've read, this was also truly wonderful. It gave me mixed emotions but the feeling of being toyed with the people you trusted and love the most overwhelm those emotions. I almost cried. I was so touched. PERFECT.

okay soo this is prequel to the manga " finger to whisper" by yamakami riyu. and this one is also entertaining and a good read , however i think this story ended too soon. it would be more interesting if it was longer and with more conflicts added to the story line.

I started thinking "the plot is good and suit my tastes". Even so, I thought it would be a common one, about brotherly love and an initially mean guy who falls for the uke...but no. This is much, much better. This surprised me like hell. Everything about it is good. The characters, their growth, the pace, the development, the outcome...everything!

I didn't like Tatsuyuki at first. He talks like a pedophile and it's creepy ("Nii-san didn't like it"). But then I realized both the semes are my type. Tatsuyuki gets to me in the sense he loves his brother in a twisted (and not because it’s almost incest, but because he wants to see Takashi suffer), obsessive way that got me hooked. He’s as sick as to not realize it himself, thinking it was only because of the extra attention he got.
And Kurose's promiscuity and seduction made me shiver – in a good way. I love sarcastic, amoral characters that are players and jerks.
But it’s more than that. The characters' personalities are so well elaborated! While both Tatsuyuki and Kurose are as real as human beings; making mistakes, falling in love and feelings guilt and pain, Takashi's the one who grows up the most and is perhaps the more mature one, even though he's naive. And, OH MY GOD how Takashi surprised me! I thought when things got hard, he'd be the crying, stuck-up uke, but no!

Since he's been brought down, he goes and gets revenge on his mean semes! I absolutely love it! And if I've already liked Takashi as an insecure and reluctant uke, I loved him as a cool and amazing one!

This is the kind of mangas I'd like to be longer because it's really interesting. Now, why do those fluffy mangas that have no story and that the characters get together in the first chapter get five volumes? Anyways, it was perfect the way it is and wouldn’t have been so good if they dragged it to make it longer.
The pace is perfect. Their relationship develops the way it should be. Then I had no clue who Takashi'd end up with. And frankly, I didn't care. The story was so beautifully constructed that I would've loved it no matter who he ended up with.

Being presented with Takashi kissing another guy, both Kurose and Tatsuyuki had a choice of what to do...and Kurose was the one who actually got crazy over it.

Then there’s the way Takashi forgave Kurose. At first, I thought it was going a little too fast and that it would take longer for someone to forgive something like that, but I can relate to it, actually. Sometimes, you love someone so much it doesn't really matter what they do, as long as they love you back. I think that's the feeling. And the omake was exactly the "missing part" I needed to settle this matter!

Even the cliché "kill me" is too good. I even love how Kurose smirks lightly when he says it, like he knows he found a way to make Takashi believe him and can't help but feel good about it.

And the issue about saying "I love you"? So beautiful! The words are so thrown around these days that they almost lack value, but in this they really are precious!

The art is absolutely gorgeous, and when it shows them a little older, they are amazingly hotter!! Takashi looks so adult! And the sex scenes…ahhh! I like painful sex scenes like those...the bite and the scratch...very sexy.

at first you think, eh same old same old in the description of school life romance. but MAN does the mangaka spice up the trouble in the love scenes 😛 however one line just totally killed the mood for me "only when i've lost you, could i realize how important you are to me". Not only is it cliche but given at the climax, i feel like it drained the momentum of the angsty feelings in the plot line.

this story was alil on the gloomy side but it was realistic which is what i loved about it. in life people get hurt, hurt others, regret, heal, and forgive. this was so real. Takashi had been the victim of emotional, and mental abuse from his brother which was some twisted form of love. yet there is Kurose who comes into his life and shows him that there is soo much more in the world than what his niisan lead him to believe. it might have been for selfish reasons at first but he still set him free. yes Takashi was betrayed but he learned about himself in the process. he became stronger and no longer let himself be a victim. his character grew into someone he could be proud of himself without need of reassurance from his niisan or Kurose. while kurose's character changed too, as he regretted his past deeds and especially hurting takashi, he also realized he loved takashi. love isn't rose colored all the time and shit happens, but they got over it and i think their love became even stronger because of it. thats what i think anyway. i really enjoyed the angst and and loved the resolution!

so....much....ANGST!!!!!! I dont know if I liked it or hated it...hmm i guess thats not very helpful -_- but I dont think its a good sign either if I cant choose between the two.
