Son of an famous politician learns that not only must he use his knowledge but understand that his body can be a weapon as well
1 Volume (Complete)

I read it a long while ago and I’m not gonna reread it, but after looking through pages again, I dislike it more. The plots are too blend, the arguments are ok but somewhat weak, and the sex scenes are bad like bad-bad.
As others have said, it's basically sex with a plot tacked on afterward. I really think it helps to read the sequel first. Think of this one as an after thought- you can see how the two met and take in three chapters of fun. The second chapter is very out of character for Maki, though. Who sells out their lover to a rapist, anyway.
I will give this one bonus points for condom use. There are so many stories out there that forget about it, that it's nice to see one that remembers (even if they only use them sporadically).
Bottom line: Gorgeous art and plenty of hot sex if you can gag down the atrocious plot.
The second chapter kills (more like absolutely murders) what would otherwise be fantastic plotless sex, which never hurt anyone once in awhile.
A young man following in his politician father's footsteps is "given" his father's old secretary to help him get on a successful path. So good so far. The two shake hands and sex almost immediately commences. And there it goes.
Now, again, without the second chapter, this would just be a beautifully drawn yaoi (Tamaquis, in my opinion, has a uniquely beautiful style) with nothing in terms of plot but a premise. I would have rated this as readable (a 5 or over). Once in awhile, mindless smut is nice, and it's only worthwhile if the art is stunning.
But then, in this case, the secretary pays the mafia to rape his lover because he thought he would enjoy it. Just... I don't even know. Nothing felt genuine about the characters and that scene just tipped things right over the edge.
uh, straight to the sex? I mean, really... I read the sequel FIRST, and this made less sense... I guess that just means the mangaka has improved... ahhh.... I started it, and now I have to finish it....
Are we all absolutely sure Daigishi no Ichizoku isn't just a remake of this series? Maki's personality is SO different.
My suggestion is that you read Daigishi no Ichizoku FIRST, and then MAYBE read this... you won't lose much it you decide not to.
If this is your first Tamaquis Wren work, do NOT let it influence you. Try another, more recent, series.
I really like Tamaquis Wren art style but the plot in this manga is totally crap and sometimes nonsense. The sequel 'Daiguishi no Ichizoku' is much better compared to Mayu.....
i agree with the other reviewer this was bad, and whats weird is that when kokoro was younger maki would not allow anyone to touch him and yet here he calmly lets someone else touch him, whats up with that?
no, really. i am used to bad plots in yaoi, but this one should win a golden turkey award. there is so much sex in this manga that there isn't much time for a plot, i realize that, but the second chapter is just totally egregious and a complete turnoff -- if your new lover lets you be raped by a yakuza for money, i expect even the most personality-free uke to do something more than say "well, don't do that again" and launch right into some more sex. ewww. tamaki ren's art is relatively good, and there's no censorship here, but the dialogue is horrible and combined with that "plot" and the flat characters, it's just not very hot, dammit. (written after 3 chapters; won't be reading any more.)
