Ikki Minami is a junior high school student with a dream - to become the best Air Trek rider in town. It won't be easy, as he faces a lot of competition from boys and girls alike. What is Air Trek? Just the latest craze that involves taking a two-wheel inline skate and adding a motor, suspension, and a shock absorber to enable the wearer to execute the wildest, wackiest, most aggressive moves you can imagine. Ikki has a lot to learn as he fights his way to the top.

A new edition named Air Gear Unlimited was released in 2014. The format is bigger and it contains some colored pages.

This series starts out ok, BUT it will mess with your mind later on, there are a hundred mysteries built on one another that never get an explanation you can understand, and all the powers they use never get an explanations that makes sense its just Oh greats own world of physics, it doesnt matter how you explain it, using your hands for weird attacktechniques when its supposed to come from the skates does not make sense. And I still dont understand all the cretures that appear behind the characters, and why is there politics in a sports and fight manga?!?!? 90% of the time im on the mangas wiki trying to understand something that is going on.

Like everyone else Air gear use to be the perfect manga but what happened to it noone will ever know. Lol jk it just seriously became fuc*ed up. but im gonna take it up again after 1 year of not reading it. Wish me luck 😛

DON'T EVEN START READING IT,it was said before but its a fact that it was good and now is just not worth your time.but if you still wanna read it,ill tell you to dont mind the story just look at the drwings they are still good.

Hah 3 months since the last comment, you'd think a shonen that was so popular would be flooded but nope.

Anyway that isn't the point, the point is, Air gear has drastically fallen (as many have said) to the point of being pure crap. As many have stated, the beginning of the series was awesome, I mean sure there was some fantasy elements into the series (I was actually okay with Akito's beam kick thing and the fact that certain fighters could stop time or something similar, pretty much all the things that happened during behemoth I was okay with).

It wasn't until Sora started pulling out Jedi like powers and that everyone and their mothers had super powers that rivaled naruto or bleach that this series just descended to crap.

I mean why the fuck at the beginning of the series give us those different games (Dash, disc, cube ect.) for each team rising up only to at the end just make the manga into something unoriginal (OKAY GUYS WE ARE ON HIGH TECH ROLLERBLADES SO LETS JUST SHOOT LIGHTNING AT EACH OTHER AND PUNCH AND STUFF KAY?).

I mean seriously, at first this series was interesting, Original even, then we get treated to a battle manga with every other issue someone running past a group of girls and tearing their clothes off? Fuck that.

Air gear has now just become a pathetic piece of shit series that honestly isn't worth picking up. You will only get attached to it and then become disgusted later (If you haven't seen the series, Don't touch it)

The manga started out fairly well, like TJTG. However, the author stalls and loses focus ...and unfortunately, as good as the drawings are, his constant one-uppers of showing effects loses its showiness after you see some amazing super powered ability that someone pulled out of their backside for the 20th time in the same action sequence.

Sort of a update. This manga is trash, Its getting almost two years since I've made a comment about this, but its just terrible, aside from awesome artwork.

The story ultimately suffers due to unnecessary and hard to follow dialogue that ultimately isn't important to the whole aspect of the story. There are a ton of characters and character development time tends to be used on unimportant characters or leave some main characters completely out of the window.

All in all, 5 points from the excellence of the drawings. Definitely one of the best mangaka in terms of drawing abilities. And one point for trying to do some semblance of a story even if it becomes abstract, chaotic with no conceptual practice of time flow. Definitely one of the crowning princes that practices manga 'filler' chapters.

I'm not exactly sure what happened. I used to love this series. I read it a couple years ago and read all the way up to the current chapter (2 years ago) in one go. It was good. Then after a certain part in the story I just fell off the wagon. I'm not sure why, but I tried to get back into it and it didn't happen. I am currently watching the anime in hopes that I can get back into it. Hopefully Air Gear picks up a bit, so I don't fall asleep reading it.

do what i did watch the anime first and find were it stops in the manga cause in the manga all the stuff before that is shit i watched the anime and read the manga beginning and i liked the anime start more so i suggest that you watch the anime and find where it continues beacuse the anime is better to me the mangas ok i mean im still reading at chapter 269 waiting on 270 but i like the anime alot more but that's my opinion

Started out strong, but managed to kill itself halfway. After a certain part of the story, large amounts of bullshit leads to much failure. What used to be a rollerblading manga with a few extra perks has now turned into a jumble of garbage fight scenes and naked ladies. Is it just me that thinks Oh Great has a tendency to start good stories which turn to moot? Basically, read it to the point where it becomes shit, then make up your own goddamn ending. Anything's better than the crap pouring out per page.

This series was interesting and started out quite strong but the thing that really gets to me is how they make the woman characters. Big chested, dumb, dense, or likes to beat up the main character over nothing, or just a total bitch.

I absolutly love this series!!! ^^... but I think Ikki is a total ... idiot... yeah lets just go with that. I LOVE AGITO!!!!... i rate Akito and Kaito in second place... And ok I know I'm not the only person who thinks this but ringo is a bit clingy... yeah... I find that desdirbing... I'm mean if the guy she likes gets stolen... she should steal him... in this case getting him away from Akito's grasp... Anyway I just love airgear... ♥♥
