I agree with many other commenters that the couple introduced in Vol 2 is where this manga gets interesting. Both the seme and the uke are well developed and unique characters, but the uke really is an unexpected gem. He is the most complex and interesting uke I have ever seen. I hope other yaoi mangakas are inspired by him to break the uke cliches.

I agree with a lot of people here - the first story was too cliche and relatively unlikeable to me (flat characters, seme treating uke with no respect and still supposed to be shown in positive light? No thank you). I could go into more detail, but there are enough reviews here with more, so I'll leave it at that.
The second story (volumes 2&3) was so much more entertaining, captivating and sweet. Is it a story between two soft personalities who mesh well together and have a blossoming romance? Not at all. The reason the story worked so well for me is that the characters both had such strong, sharp personalities and they each were jaded in some way as well, creating the perfect scenario of two people who can both stand up for themselves as well as lick each others' wounds.
So I'll continue the common opinion - skip volume 1 and head straight for the second story in volume 2. You don't miss much. I only wish the entire series was about this couple!

Typical Yaoi, Decent Smut

Okay, this is gonna be a kinda generic question regarding about 96% of all yaoi manga, but... Can somebody please, please, PLEASE explain to me why these two characters are suddenly in love? Like, what do they see in each other? Pretty eyes? Pretty face? "Suddenly I am incapable of surviving without contact from your lips?" I mean, what the hell? I just want to know what the connection is. Is it purely physical? That's awfully superficial, and the obnoxious heart-pounding monologues would argue otherwise. But the emotional connection between the characters is always so shallow. So what is it? Are yaoi stories just about handsome young men who are so sex-starved that anything will do? Huh?!
In the first story, the uke was used and repeatedly raped by the seme. So why the hell is he suddenly in love with him? It makes no sense as far as I can tell. If this is supposed to be some kind of Stockholm scenario, it's not even close to being developed enough to be realistic. Imagine what would happen if, in real life, rape victims fell in love with their rapists all the damn time? Would it be seen as okay or "romantic," like this manga (and many yaoi titles) seems to promote? Honestly, this whole genre is filled to the brim with unfortunate implications, which makes it impossible to read for the romance. I mean, am I the only one who has a problem with this? I've never been a victim of rape, but I feel like if I had, I would despise that person with the very essence of my being. I would most likely want them dead in the most horrifically painful and humiliating way imaginable. The uke in the first story says multiple times that he'll kill the seme if he touches him again. Really, I wish these characters would follow through on their threats for once instead of falling "madly in love" with their rapists.
As far as the smut goes, it was pretty decent, probably above average. The art is nice as well, making the sex that much more enjoyable. Despite their lousy personalities, the characters were very pretty and well-designed, so you can pretty much ignore most of the internal thoughts and junk if you're like me and don't care to be bothered by them. So, despite the fairly annoying, cliché, typical yaoi story, I was able to enjoy the sex scenes, at least. I'll give it a 5 for that.

The rating's for the story in the second volume. The first volume was so cliche and boring with its psycho forceful possessive seme and reluctant uke that i was only able to read two chapters. The second volume, though, is really interesting but I would advise to skip reading if you're bothered by screwed-up characters, fucked up relationships and rape.
Rinku's bored with pretty much everything in his life when he finds out that his teacher who's involved with an older married man has a very violent layer to his personality and isn't such a goody two shoes after all. It turns out that violence turns Riku on... Frankly, the two leads of this story are each other's match.
All in all, fucked up but intersting!

Usually rape is a no no in my books, meaning I strongly dislike the rape-is-love trope. However, here it doesn't have much to do with love, it's all about violence and dominance and only just a little about lust. The interesting part is that Rinku seems aware of that. Yakushiji's reaction isn't the manga-typical tears and fears and doubts but cold shoulder and more violence which spurs Rinku on and makes him try to make Yakushiji fall out of love with the older man.
All in all, fucked up but intersting!

The first story was boring, but the second story makes up for it. The teacher in the second story is a very interesting character somewhat two-faced because of heartbreak, and he was pushed into revealing his violent side by Ritsu's taunts. It's entertaining to see Ritsu desire and chase after such a strong personality. I can't wait to see what happens next!

When I read the description, I thought “Oh my god, such a perfect story!”. Then I got to the first page and saw Aya dressed up as a girl and thought “I hate this. Yaoi’s about gays, so why do people insist on making them cross-dressers??!”. The only thing actually good about this was that even dressed as a bride, Aya still looked like a guy, which, for me, is a positive point, since it means the art to their faces is very masculine.
But turns out the description was the right one. It’s a little predictable, but I couldn’t care less: it’s just my favorite type of yaoi plot! I could see this kinda of story a hundred times and I’d still love it!
And…I.Totally.Love.Shingyouji’s.Personality~! He’s so sexy, and pushy, and straightforward, and dominant, and possessive! *-*
I love the way he makes passes at Aya in the “you’re doing whatever the hell I want” way! That’s just how I like semes.
And Aya isn’t bad either, at all! He’s so stubborn and difficult to catch! And he’s sexy too, really lovely face. I love how he gets all defensive once he realizes he’s getting too into Shingyouji. And he even keeps on working at the same place (before he knew about the photos) even though he could just easily move and work somewhere else! He so wants it it’s even silly (in a good way, of course) xD And it’s adorable how he despised a kiss so much and then suddenly realizes Shingyouji doesn’t kiss him and gets all pissed. And I love how the “he doesn’t kiss me” thing is one of the main issues. That’s just one of the things I happen to find more adorable! But I especially liked that Aya didn’t jerk off when he thought about Shingyouji. He just thought about him, innocently. About a kiss. I totally loved how he has such a childish feeling, even pretending to be tough.
I love the subtlety of some things, like physical sex vs passionate sex. When Shingyouji suggests something as simple as holding hands while doing it, or when he tells Aya there's no coming back if they have sex after they've kissed for the first time...that's the essence of love, shown so aggressively, yet so subtle...
I have to add, though, I thought this manga was similar to Totally Captivated to begin with, but when Shingyouji called Aya a “wild cat” (while in TC it’s “fox”) and Aya called Shingyouji a “beast” (same as TC), I realized it really IS too similar. Not that I'm complaining, since TC my favorite manga ever - though Leopard Hakusho is not as good, of course.
Even the complaint I had about Leopard Hakushou turned out to be a good thing. I thought everything was way too explained in the first chapter and that it would stop the story from being interesting, with just the seme chasing after the uke. But it wasn’t like that. Then Aya fell too quickly for Shingyouji and I thought that was it. And now the engagement...it stopped for a long time and I was DYING to know what was gonna happen!!
I thought the way they got together was a bit too abrupt, though. Aya should've suffered more instead of getting a confession right away.
Even so, to me this was perfect, because it’s all of my fetishes together (S/M! *-*). It’s a really beautiful manga, but since it does have a lot of cliches, people who are looking for a innovative story might not like it that much.[/b] Well, I'd still hughly recommend it!
Then comes the second volume. OH.MY.GOD. If the first one was good already good, this one's freaking promising!! I though it'd still be about the first volume's couple, which would suck, since they're story's already over and it'd be a drag...buuut! It's about my beautiful, beloved Rinka, whom I loved since the beginning, when he didn't ever appear much. He’s so cute!
And, from the first chapter we got, I don't even know who I'm gonna love more, him or Yakushiji!
He's the bad ass uke I love! Not that Aya isn't, but...seems to me all the semes and ukes in this manga are my type!! *-*
Yakushiji totally got me fooled too! I can't WAIT for more!!

Quite addicting and I kept wanting to know what happen next. Hot and sexy..though the seme is the kind of the cliche super rich bastard who think they can do anything to other people. I like the uke character at first, he has his own strength. But later he become quite a cliche uke too who become weak will when dealing with the seme. Good to read but nothing I will keep.
