Description
The series takes place at a certain Japanese location, where a girl moves in with her aunt to a new house after experiencing some more or less shocking events back home. There she meets a boy named Fuyuki, whom she spends a lot of time with from then on. The special thing about Chinatsu is her voice, a voice which many seem to have heard before, but from where? What's so special about this girl, and what'll happen in the future?

This manga draws upon characters young and old, rising and fading, with great ambitions and heavy regrets and weaves them together to make a great tale. It carefully reveals and addresses everyone's desires and fears, using its gorgeous art and combination of childish innocence and worldly adulthood to draw the best of both together.
Unfortunately, the ending is noticeably abrupt considering the more measured pace taken in the first two volumes of the series, with a decline in quality as great revelations are shot out one after the other instead of the slow reveals that had been the mainstay of the series. Despite the ending, this is a great manga that I highly recommend.

well, it did say 'part 1' so i'm hoping theres more to this than that. i want to know more about these kids lives. the ending is a bit rushed, but im hoping the whole story is not resolved yet. the art is just amazing though sometimes repetitive. it's a quite read.

The story touches upon some issues that many people have to deal with in real life, ever so slightly. Though that's the case, it still has the ability to impact the reader and perhaps- get them to think about it.
This story pulls you in and doesn't let go until the end. It's a wonderful story.
It's a very strong and emotional read.. it seems to call for a sequel, though. Hope it continues.

As you read through the story, you'll get drawn in by the characters, art and the story itself.
Chinatsu and even the side characters are developed in a pace that is realistic and does not seem rushed (nor too slow), which is a refreshing aspect of the character development. . As for the art, the details in scenery are absolutely beautiful, which is a positive since it would create a relaxing setting for the both the reader and the story. (Although it also aids in recreating a hectic scene).
Last but not least, the storyline. Although some parts of it seem a little exaggerated at times, some of those events can happen in the real world, just- very rarely. Sometimes, I feel like there are too many coincidences happening inside the story, but I feel rather satisfied even with that. It's kind of like saying- "Life isn't perfect." Which the story clearly portrays without being cynical or (too) cruel. Through the story of Fuyuki's grandfather, the reader will learn that, everyone has their own problems and some of them may run deeper than meets the eye. So the least they need, no matter how strange or unreasonable their actions are- is an ear that will listen from a relative or anyone that cares.
All in all, everyone should give Chinatsu no Uta, a read or two. : )
