It's good but the comedy somehow ruined the mood

When it comes to real life I believe everyone should move on when their loved one died, after all keep looking at the past is such a sad thing and yeah, the beloved one sure will hope the one (s)he left behind can move on and keep alive and find happiness. But when it comes to a story, I prefer to read a more fantasy-like story that will make us believe that there's something called as an eternal and inseparable love (I know that in real life there's no such a thing tho, I mean when it comes to human relationship), so I tend to seek a story with realistic approach but has a fairy tale ending.
The only thing that sometimes bug me was the comedy. There are many scenes that try to make you laugh where in the end I find most of them unfunny and out of place. For me who easily get immersed to a story, especially when it comes to a sad story, this such a comedy ruins the mood.
But still, it was a good read.

This one on the other hand takes the former. It's a story of "moving on from the death of beloved one" with a realistic approach and ending. But it doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. I like the fact that this manga is a short one, so they only focus on how the main character move on. Usually, a longer manga will make you eat bitter love triangle drama to do that. But this one doesn't take that route, it's simple and stay trustful to its premise

Emotional story (but don't think too much about it)

It's a well written, well drawn, simple and tender story. Likeable characters, and just the right pace to get the readers emotional.
The only drawback is how heaven is described: it's actually a quite funny, interesting and original concept, that would maybe deserve its own story; just not this one. The amoral heaven, that manages to be even more materialistic than life on earth, isn't in harmony with the noble feelings of the characters, and feels out of place. What's more, it causes a bit of fridge logic, once you start to analyze the story too much: the male main character ends up actually being right about his promise, since not forgetting her will eventually get him repayed with an eternal reunion. The girl's efforts seem pointless and actually wrong, since the sacrifice of a earthly life of sorrow for an eternity of happiness seems quite reasonable, given the context.
All in all a good story, to be read with an open heart and a relaxed brain.

Love, hate, life, death...these are things which are all around us every day, but we rarely stop to really think about them. Reading manga like this one will make you stop and think about what it means to be human - to live, to love, to die one day...and so on. But thinking about these things is one of the most important things you can do - because you will realize how important it is to cherish life and all the things that happen in it. And that is why this manga is fantastic. You will better be able to appreciate life - and the people who you run into during the course of it - after having read Magi no Okurimono.

A simple story of love, life, and death... carved into a tale of depth and beauty. Wishing for different things doesn't always mean that you no longer love each other. In fact, that contradiction itself is a form of love.
