Description

After a car crash mysteriously transports him to a land of martial arts, Cha Shinhyun trains for 140 years and becomes the strongest being in Murim. I like OP MC stories, and this one is about as OP as you can get. If it were just season 1, I'd probably give it a 7.

Season 2... really falls off. The entire demon king arc is a slog to get through, and doesn't make a lot of sense. The character motivations are all over the place, the dialog is trash, it's just ... a boring slog. Also the MC is nonsensically struggling against opponents he should have otherwise mopped the floor with. If you start with an OP MC, you have to keep it that way.

Anyway, it does have an ending, which is good, but you have to drag your way through a lot of boring chapters to get there. Knowing what I know now, I'd probably skip this story.

Bro, how can not a single character be likeable???? They're all either irritating or arrogant, bffr.

I should've known since this had the whole sister trope but stillll 💀 it just got infinitely worse after pink hair girl was introduced. Love how author skips RIGHT OVER mc's growth leaving him with basically no character development. Because that's definitely a sign of good writing. The art is passable but elementary.

This is a non-starter for the 1st 20 or so chapters. Too much drama and not enough working on the various mysteries that were set up.

Also, the pointless fighting between MC and his sister is so forced. I don't blame the sister for "being annoying" as so many have commented on various websites.

Literally NO ONE tells her what's going on. She doesn't understand what her brother has gone through because the asshole never tells her anything. She doesn't understand that he really is all powerful... even if she's already seen him go nuts on a bunch of monsters.

Honestly, she's still that lost, scared, orphaned girl after her brother disappeared. No one is reassuring her of anything. Now the pink haired chick seems to have an even closer relationship with her brother than she does. They share secret knowledge. They share experiences. They went through something in a place that she'll never know or ever get to go too. (Currently.) So, she's feeling even more isolated and pushed out, uncared for.

But none of that is made compelling enough for me to care about. This is boring.

EDIT: Tried again and it's still excruciatingly painful. I can't stand sports/tournament arcs when it's so fucking obvious it's not going to be all that important in the grand scheme of the story. Why introduce it at all?

And why do it at the very beginning when MC just got back to earth? It's mind-numbingly boring.

It is an "OK" read. The art is good but the storyline is lacking in terms of keeping the reader engaged (in my opinion). While the setting of the series does remind me of Solo Leveling (in that the setting takes place in modern day/near-future being invaded by dungeons on Earth). The quality of the storytelling is not on the level of Solo Leveling.
