How to waste interesting ideas for a story trashier than a a bad harlequin novel

I’m very annoyed at this manhua because it had very good ideas, but it didn’t execute them well at all: like, why does the protagonist have to return to the husband who abused and mistreated her? And why do all the female characters have to fight for a man’s affection? Why does the song written by the protagonist’s mother have to be a love song? It’d have been better a didactic poem about how the universe works since it could have given to the audience information about the lore of the world and good foreshadowing and it could have shown the injustice of sexism due to none of the characters, outside the protagonist, thinks it was written by a woman. Given that the setting has xianxia elements, couldn’t the protagonist meet a yao or a cultivator who helps her to feign her death and then to join a sect, where she discovers her enormous cultivation potential and she ends up becoming its leader? It’d have been more interesting to see her having rivalries with both male and female cultivators for power and glory, forming a group of friends with other women cultivators who suffered because the sexism in their society and who want to use their extremely long lifetimes to change society and that her trashy ex-husband and the prince who helped his sister to torture her falling in love with the legendary reputation she ends up developing as peerless immortal without them knowing it’s her in order to show how superficial and entitled they are. The story could have shown how the cultivation society is more gender equal than mortal one due to “abandoning any mortal rules” and “any paths can lead to illumination” being key elements for cultivation in order to show why patriarchal societies are wrong and why gender equality is good. There could have been a whole analysis on how misogyny and how the patriarchy manifested in Ancient China and why having internalized sexism is bad for women and it doesn’t bring them any good, in a similar way the manhwa “Her tale of Shim-Chong” does. Also, I would have liked to see the ex-husband, the prince and all the other trashy male characters getting such a beating that they ended up handicapped for life and having their pride completely destroyed by the protagonist. This manhua is not worthy anyone’s time.
