Description
Princess Apollonia may seem weak and dim-witted, but the truth is, she’s not as clueless as she seems. She must keep up her act of ignorance to foil her cruel father’s political schemes and weave her way out of his arranged marriages. Her ultimate objective is to avenge the deaths of her mother and grandfather and shape her own destiny! And once more, the Koreans deliver their brand of romance. How I wish they didn't...
This story is pretty darn good, it has one major flaw though. The romance. siiiiigh
See, the issue isn't even that the characters are bad per se, it's just in how badly it is presented and laid out. Almost every scene the ML is in only serves to highlight how he's the strongest, the best, the smartest, the most skilled, the most compassionate towards the FL, and so on. It's getting reeeaaally old. I really do feel bad for the second ML in this (even if I don't actually think he is 2nd ML, since it's painfully obvious who the real ML is from the get-go)
It's even more infuriating because everything else is actually pretty darn good. I just, can't stomach this level of glorification for the sake of glorification. There are many characters whose stories I want to see how ends, but I just can't take it anymore, I have to drop.
This is yet another Korean story that would have been FAR better off without romance. It's actually upsetting and sad. Heck, tragic even.
