love it

Most of sensei works are extremely unique, deep and full of angst, made on it's own pace with beautiful but a bit rough art, filled with real strong love, a kind that you can experience once or maybe twice or in your life, just outstanding and this manga is like that. Most of the stories are memorable. I loved the first one - extremely moving, also 5 and 6 but really all of them were great.
Enjoy !

I couldn't follow some dialogues in a few stories and I really don't like it, when I am supposed to think on my own about how it should end. All stories were so dark, but they were so powerful...Hmm, I don't know how else to describe it, but the stories really made me feel SOMETHING, be it sadness, fear, tears, heartbreaking love,... I think I like this author.

but less romantic than her other stories

Actually, I prefer her other works (she created quite a bunch of "shounen ai" manga stories during 2008 year ^^, and they all are great). Though these stories were well-done, they are too abstract and awkward for me.. But still I enjoyed it from first page to last!

i really enjoyed the poetic way in which the first story and the garden of despair story was written. so much was conveyed with only a few words.

each of the stories was well written, however. if the story isn't tragic, it'll still pull your heartstrings in some way. fifth and sixth stories were the most lighthearted, but i still love the mature way in which each story was formed and the formation of the characters (i love the perverted guy in the 6th story. we're all guilty, aren't we?)

great one shot collection, would recommend.

This manga is pretty average, and sometimes I just can't seem to get what exactly is going on. Some of the stories is pretty nice and refreshing although the first story seems dark, but nevertheless, it's an enjoyable manga.

First two stories serious, gets lighter

First off, I LOVE the first story. I remember reading it several years ago and not really getting it and guiltily thinking it was kinda boring, but now with a new appreciation of Arabic culture (thanks to Lawrence of Arabia among other things biggrin) and more maturity, I went back to read it again and absolutely loved it. The subtleties are great and you really have to read the work a couple times in order to fully understand it. Even after that it leaves you thinking at the end.

The second story I find to be a great commentary on the state of yaoi manga in general "I kept saying no and no until I cried, and you laughed at me and kept going" or something like that. It was a serious take on what REALLY happens in those sorts of relationships...

The rest of the manga was lighter and I would say more typical Yamashita Tomoko (at least typical of her more light-hearted works). I almost wish the manga had kept the serious tone from the beginning, but I suppose that would've been rather depressing... If she could be able to write more stories like her first one I think that would be really great, the yaoi world is in desperate need of such quality at the moment...

i love this. the writing was beautiful. it has a mature feeling to it, like emotionally mature. and i love that it was realistic. but i would probably describe this as a shounen ai rather than yaoi

None of these make any sense. Maybe the translations were off or something but it felt like every story was actually the middle of a longer story...and so they ended without any real resolution. None of the characters were really interesting except for sahab, and i wish the author delved into the first story more, because it could have been the best one.

well, this is confusing and doesnt make much sense so i give it a 4 because the art is pretty.

beautiful, just beautiful. forgive me that I can't find a proper word to describe how I am feeling about this manga right now, I just can say the first chapter was so deep and realistic that I was stunned. the same thing happened when I read the mangaka's other work, "Touch me again". I will never forget that story, that sadness and heart breaking love ... *sobs*
