Okay so I just remembered reading a shoujo manga years ago but I forgot it's title and I want to look and read it again today.
Here's what I remember from it:
-Mainly, I remember the ending the most. It's some sort of like the guy was sent to serve the army or something. The girl was having a baby, and she was waiting for him to come back. I'm not sure though if he did come back or he died. Though I think he came back unexpectedly. 😛 Anyway that's most of what I remember.
-It was set in some historical era like Showa or Meiji. I'm not sure.
At first I thought it was from one of Akane Ogura's works but I couldn't find it there. I think it's a similar artist.

I think you're right. At first I thought it was, then I thought it wasn't because I downloaded and thought I was finished but I realized I hadnt dowloaded the second volume yet 😛 Oh well
