Okay... I guess I'm the only one that thought that Taiyo should've gotten hit with Nagisa... I don't know - she kinda looked like the better party for him specifically... mmm... nothing bad with Shibuki, but too serious, and as far as Mio goes - she's his sister (half-sister but sister non the less) so eww... On the side note - I do agree that Mar was an underdeveloped char... Man... It would've been great if she poped up in Okinawa just like that smile That would've provided a couple of more chapters of phun. Anyway - the Baby scene in the last chapter really left me confused though... I was still kinda left with the impression the baby is actually Nagisa's? I don't know why... blah - I hate it when the story isn't clear at the end like that >_<...

it's weird, who is the father of Mar's child? she was a prostitute so it couldve been anyone's child. also at the ruins there was this soldier who found Mar at the entrance, he was pointing the gun at Mar, but Mar ended up safe? She also threw the tether, then she looked pale when Taiyo came back. Most probably what happened here was Mar sold herself to the soldier? Well that's her purpose in the manga, a "Source of happiness for men"

Remember that Taiyo ends up doing the same things as his father (in terms of betrayals)...

Quote from Druid
Everybody has already mentioned how Taiyo's dad is a complete dirtbag who's actions (not his stigmata) plunged all the women in his life into misfortune, but there was one other thing that bothered me. I thought how the Peru segment was wrapped up was just horrible. The author purposely didn't develop Lago. She's just Mar's little sister that's drawn in some of the scenes and doesn't speak (he even conveniently has the stigmata disease make her mute.) This makes it easy for him to kill her off in the most cruel and heartless way to supposedly save all the other stigmata children. However it's unclear that her death really saved anyone. Mar decides to look the other way while her sister that she's been trying to save for years is brutally murdered in front of her all on the chance Taiyo *might* be saved. After it's all said and done, Taiyo at one point actually thanks Machiko for her actions. That whole series of events is written in a way that makes it easy for the reader to look the other way, but if you think about it, simply developing Lago a little bit would make the reader sick and angry when it came to her death.

Overall the biggest flaw of this manga is how the awfulness of the actions of some of the characters is simply brushed over and they are made to look like they are not so bad after all.

Nailed it.

Quote from Draco
According to the 180 that the end of the story did... apparently no one ACTUALLY "Died in Taiyo's place" and the whale wasn't malicious in any way...

So why are all these kids suffering becuase of this stigmatta that apparently doesn't actually harm anyone in any way.

I really liked how it's kinda revealed in the end, that Lagos was pretty much murdered for no reason.

Manga was decent enough until that peruvian (not mexican, @muaddib) girl's murder... because there's no reason in the first place to kill an innocent little girl. Disgusting.
