Family's computer literacy.

I'm a mediocre PC user. My typing skills suck but otherwise I know what everyone else knows. My brother is an average user. He's your average user who thinks he knows everything until he screws something up. Because of him, I learned what RMA means
Then there are my parents. The concept of the mouse is foreign to them. They don't understand that using credit card pin numbers for passwords or their real names/social security numbers for user names are bad ideas. To them, logging on sounds like a dirty word.
So, how's your family's computer literacy? 🤢
Well, the younger members are ok, I guess, and it goes down with the older members.
I'm just average, with some basics and google I can get around some problems.

my dad's a computer specialist in the army.
my mom knows exactly enough to manage.
my younger brother only plays games like Eudemons or something.or age of empire.
my older brother is a total computer freak, who freaks out when he's dead in a game.yes, a total nerd.
and then you have my oldest brother, and he's not home a lot, but when he is, he watches porn on his laptop.he knows enough about computers themselves too though.
and I'm pretty good with computers, I guess.

I'm pretty average, maybe a little above it. I can type pretty fast, know how to fiddle with some settings, and other slightly above basic line stuff. Same with two of my sisters.
My brother is a computer whiz. He even has his own computer repair business hes starting up. He can do pretty much anything with a computer. So when there is a problem I can't fix by trying everything I know, I go to him.
My mom/dad are pretty basic users; they can use the internet, print stuff, and use email/online banking. My dad can even uninstall/install stuff. But thats about it.

Um, I'm pretty good with computers. I can get rid of viruses and do basic programming. My bro is a genius. Just amazing with them. My dad doesn't know what hes doing but gets the results he wants lol, and my mom is terrible when it comes to computers.

My parents are computer programmers. My dad's pretty good with them, but my mom only knows the basics on how to use them. My sister and I are pretty good too, like I was able to fix & restore the files of the family computer by myself after it crashed without letting my parents know about it. My sister's basically around my level or lower. Everyone in my family is basically a computer nerd.
Mom, aunts and grandparents don't know anything about it.
Siblings, cousins, my dad and uncles are good...Net surfing, games and usage of apps.
Me, my two little brothers and 5 of my cousins took up/are taking up computer related courses so we know the geeky stuff of computer usage.
But as far as hardware goes only three of us (me and 2 cousins) are knowledgeable about it.
I can do a lot of crap,
siblings are ordinary users,
my dad can do more than I, my
step dad about the same as
me (though, he does that stuff for
work in many cases, I am better at
the geek stuff. Hard to put these
into categories, since there are many
fields of knowledge) and my mom is the average mom.

Well in my family most of the males are pretty good with computers (my uncles are all computer experts, i'm bove average and my little borther appears to be a natural with technology incl pc). The females get by except for my mom who is obsessd with doing things well and so learned herself everything she needed to know about pc's. and well my grandmother doesn't like keeping up with the current tech she finds it too complicated and troublesome

I put 'they're good' because they're split.
My mom's only recently started to get into surfing. She's barely used email for a few years otherwise.
Dad, however, has been building and programming them since the 1960s. He's why I've been into computers for so long (nearly 30 years). I'm definitely higher than your average user.
If we go into my extended family, then the older generation gets "They get by" and my generation and younger gets "They're Good."
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

Okay I guess? O_O I mean I think I fail at computers so badly.Have been trying to install the same program for the past 3 days...O_O;;
My mother knows her way around it. She made her own website (coded and designed) in order to advertise her shop. Online shopping. +__+
My stepfather is an anthropologist (cultural) so he uses the computer a lot to build his lessons, and save all that fancy data stuff. He's a computer expert, kinda.
So basically they're both better than me. ._.
Extended family is different~

My dad is ok with the computer except when it comes to attaching files and opening documents from e-mails.
My mom can't even operate her cell phone properly, what makes you think she can operate the computer? 😀
I'm the tech kid of the family since my sister also has limited knowledge on computers.

Maybe I'm a bit above average myself.
I handle all the usual stuff and set up and optimise my home network. I know enough to not have to search with google or call tech support everytime I come across an issue with my computer. I can also make my own undubs of DS games, but that's stupidly simple I found out.
My two older sisters really only use the basic functions of a computer, internet and office, thats about it.
Then theres my younger sister, who is also a basic user but also plays games on it. But she is also prone to destoying electronics royally. A while back she manage to screw windows so bad, it was unable to run any .exe programs (that's about all of em)
Then theres my mom, who would be hard pressed to point out the power button on the case.

Then you have surrendered to the Devil
And must surely perish. - J.W. von Goethe

I pretty much fail at everything that's not work-related. Dad is probably slightly better then me. Mom recently learned how to surf the net (the basic stuff), so now she's abusing it in her workplace.
One of my cousins is a programmer, a real wiz. Other older cousins mostly fail. Younger cousins, I don't really know...there's a few that are quite good (I sometimes bug them for help).
Older family still has trouble with VCR.
