Ok, question: I have reread the whole series bout 3 times now, and I don't understand why when Tenma would take Hige's glasses off she'd say that she has seen him somewhere. Then Hige would freak, like she was going to find out who he really was. What is up with that? I don't know where that comes into context in the series, anyways, doesn't Harima look better without a hige or beard? just wondering.

Didn't he save her when they were younger.... Can't remember, really. I think she saw a knife cut on his back and fainted. He brought her back to his apartment, but she woke up and thought he was gonna take advantage of her or something like that.

And that's why he grew the beard and uses the shades.

I saw this in the anime, though. I only started the manga after season 1 of the anime ended.... so I'm not sure if it's similar or not. It might be in one of those b(flat) chapters for all I know.

Try to look for a scene where Harima and Itoko are in a Chinese restaurant very early in the story. I think he explains it to Itoiko there.... maybe.

Yea, it's in v2 of the manga and one of the first episodes of the 1st season. Don't remember when exactly in the anime, watched it a long time ago. >__<;

Harima tells Itoko about how when he met Tenma, he saved her from some guys trying to harass her or whatnot. She fainted and took her to his apartment. She was acting all "OMG MY HERO!" and sleep talking and shit. She hugged Harima while asleep and was about to kiss him, and then she woke up and Harima was in... a bad position.

So after kicking his ass, she left and Harima fell in love with her.

That's why he doesn't want her to recognize him.

Eri knows him as "hige", or beard, and even commented that he had a fine beard after she brutalized the scruffier version of it.

For her part, Yakumo was ordered to draw on Harima's shaven face on Tenma's birthday, and she drew in the beard and 'stache.

I would find it hard to argue with those two opinions.
