On manga relationships

I wanted to ask you guys on your favourite ships that never had the chance to sail in manga or anime, or even opinions on how authors decided to handle relationships in their manga.
Let me clarify: do you think a manga has handled relationships exceptionally well or bad? Not necessarily romantic relationships e.g. Alphonse and Edward's relationship in FMA.
Also - do you think any mangaka have made wrong descicions concerning relationships? As in, a falling out with between characters that was uncalled for, or instant romance with no background.
Inspired off my sister, who thought Orihime should've ended up with Ulquiorra. Please be courteous with each other. Thanks for your contribution!

Trying to think of a series where the ending relationship didn't feel right and the only one I can really point to is Ren'ai Boukun, mainly because it feels unfinished in how the relationships were handled. Everything else that comes to mind either was a bad series itself (Nazca and Nadesico, the anime), or that the relationship felt "right" but was rushed in the delivery (F. Compo, Iron Man)
