I've had my license for a few months now, and I haven't done anything REALLY stupid. But the entrance to my neighborhood is on a hill, so the cars in the lanes I need to turn into are REALLY fast (everyone speeds here anyway), so several times, people have nearly hit me b/c they chose not to slow down when I turned out 0_0 (instead they accelerate)

Lucky Aussie. I have a G35 that I've been wishing to take over a 100mph.

Look at him, so proud to be a bogan. Speak for yourself, buddy. Here in Australia, there are laws. There's just too many idiots not wanting to obey them and cause havoc on the roads and so many deaths.

I've been driving since I was 14. Legal age is 16 unaccompanied.

Oh, and no roadtrains. Just watch out for the berries.

Yes, I passed a year ago, though it took me a year and two tests to pass, lol. We can start to learn at 17 but I was 18 before I started and I was really nervous so it took me a while. I passed my theory and hazard perception tests with flying colours, I got full marks on my theory! But my first test i was really nervous and when I pulled out from behind a car outside a school I missed this low sports car coming towards me, so I got a major in my observation. I was gutted. I passed second time round with seven minors though.

For those of you who aren't from England and have no idea what I'm talking about we have private instructors here from either a driving school or someone self-employed, mine was the latter. We don't have any driving lesson in school or college. 17 is the legal age to drive from. We have to take and pass a theory test first which consists of 50 multiple choice questions based on the highway code and you need 45 correct to pass. We also have a Hazard perception video test where you watch a clip and identify the potential hazards, that doesn't need as high a mark to pass though. After passing your theory you have two years to take your practical test. The practical has a eye examination, some questions on the mechanics of the car so how to check fluid levels, tyre pressure etc, then a 45min exam where certain manouvers are performed as well as general driving. We get asked any one of 2 parking techniques (parallel parking and bay parking) and any one of two control techniques (reversing left around a corner and a turn in the road)

My stupid things are:
Driving without my glasses
Hitting a small picket fence whilst leaving the pub
Reversing down a main road in front of a cop car (he didn't bother though)
Getting lost multiple times
Turning when my friend said 'oh look at that house'
Taking a roundabout too fast so all my friends squished each other
Stopping the car to talk to a rabbit
Causing a queue whilst I waited for a hedgehog to cross the road
Executing an emergency stop because there were birds in the road
Taking a short cut that ended up me circling the same block 3 times
Cutting up a lorry with my little punto (that was scary)
Losing my car in the supermarket car park
Hitting the kerb when I got to the end of the road
Driving over my friend's neighbours lawn
Accidentally driving over a bowling green because I thought it was the car park (it was dark ok)

I've had my learner's permit since 16 and I've only driven for like...1 hour TOPS. Can't really be bothered learning atm.
Other than that...I can drive with a keyboard o_o

You sure that permit even counts anymore? I heard you must take the test again after a certain amount of time.

And I have driven since I was fourteen. Older friends FTW.

It's only been 3 years. Geez, how old do you guys think I am?! o.O

Where I live it's only, I think, like 2 years with a learners permit.

Only one time, I drove well since I was intoxicated. But I don't drive anymore and I honestly will never ever even think about driving again. The thought of it scares me to death see. But I'm thinking of learning how to fly an airplane, not sure why that is ok but it probably has to do with the skies being less crowded. But money is needed, so for the future!

I've been driving for about 8 years now.

The dumbest thing I've done is cut somebody off, almost caused an accident on a small road, because I was too impatient to wait for somebody who was going very slowly.

Rofl, you really want to die, don't you? I would not like to see the result of a confrontation between a truck and your Punto. The feat with the trooper was hilarious though
🤣

Otherwise, the whole process looks pretty similar to Switzerland's tests.

By the way, I drive stick shift and ride unlimited motorcycles.
