hey

im looking for mangas with more "mature" content. i dont mean hentai n stuff with this, more like some "graphic novell" equivalent. it hasnt to be for older audiences only, but the story/art shouldnt be that bleach or dunnowhat one. to give you a hint what kind reads i liked:

-Koroshiya 1(and the other somewhat unique themes for my knowing by that author, mabye a bit perverted .. cough but i think the concept is quite good)
-lone wolf and cub(and other similar ones ..)
-Ghost in the Shell(and other cyberpunk ..)
-Sanctuary
-dunnowhat 😉

i forgot many names, i read other genres, too, but like i said it should be some kind of more mature approach of manga 🙂

started a bit "late" with reading comics/mangas/etc, would appreciate recommendations for good reads 🙂

exclude hentai, include mature/seinen/josei/adult

it is that simple

Might try reading hotman. Again it helps to do all the fun things in the search bar like the previous person said but u might wanna add "slice of life" too. I tend to find those to be more mature.

Unfortunately, I have not read any of the works mentioned in the opening post, but my suggestion would be Ookami to Koushinryou (Novel). There is some heavy dialogue (and some of the economic systems terminology goes over my head), but I am glued to the main characters.

You'll probably like seinen and/or josei. I second mu2020's suggestion of doing your own genre search.

I'd go with Asano Inio if you want something unorthodox or Urasawa Naoki if you want a classic masterpiece with excellent plot, then well I think "mature" content is pretty generic, I mean "seinen" manga are aimed to young male (20-30 yrs) so it depends on what you want to read. There are pretty good historical manga with mature content like Vinland Saga and Historie if you're into that. For sci-fi/splatter stuff, Elfen Lied or Kurozuka.
Also you could check my all-time favorite manga, which is Gunslinger Girl.

it's hard to remember which manga that where outstanding where for mature audience
but I recommend all of KAWAGUCHI Kaiji's like Zipang, Seizon - Life
and Eagle which is licensed in USA
and Vinland isn't as mature asthe other YUKIMURA Makoto manga Planetes which i highly recommend
you can also check all of HOSHINO Yukinobu
ah! how did i forget Crime and Punishment: A Falsified Romance!!
