Just because you don't like using your brain when playing games doesn't mean all of us don't. Sorry but if you can't see how retarded many of Bethesda's ideas are (not only you can't see them until we point them out to you but even when we do you're still saying it's no problem) then it's no surprise you're anticipating the game.
Yes, it's only a video game but that doesn't mean it has to be made so that monkeys can play it and recently there are few games which aren't directed to idiots. What's more it's called "Fallout 3" not "Parody of Fallout". If I've played Diablo and Diablo 2 then I expect that Diablo 3 won't be an FPS unless it's a spin-off. That's why there is Star Craft 2 and Star Craft: Ghost. As for realism, of course there must be many simplifications but it doesn't mean that there could be retarded ideas. Retarded idea is retarded no matter how you look at it (unless you're playing a parody) and this has nothing to do with realism. And Fallout had many simplifications, nonetheless none of their ideas were retarded (at least none in Fallout 1 which was used as model by Bethesda). Also they (Bethesda's employees) have been lying to us all this time and even though they're cheating you, you have such short memory that you forget about it immediately. All this time they've been saying it would be a serious game and what did we get? 2 years ago they've been telling us it won't be Oblivion with guns and now they're saying: "To put it simple, it's Oblivion with guns". This game is a laugh.
And no, they're not making it FPS because there are more fans of this genre than RPG, they're making it in firs person perspective because it's cheaper to use old engine than make a new one.

the problem is most people don't like turn based game, if you compared previous fallout series and diablo which one has more fanbase, obviously diablo because it offer more fast paced action.

I don't expect any good story either, since when bethesda has made real rpg?

I am a fan of fallout series for years now. I even liked tactics to some extent. so when I heard Fallout 3 is coming out in a year or two I was thrilled! well, that was as long as I didn't know that they change the RPG to FPS. I am a person that can only play FPS for max 3 hours at a time, RPG for days at a time. I don't think I've slept for more than 2 hours a night when Fallout 2 first came out. I don't really care what their reason is for going FPS, it is simply wrong. Fallout 3 should never be what it is going to be. Fallout: FPS spinoff I don't care. people will play it, even I will. it just hurts my heart thinking what they did to Fallout

as far as graphics concerned, what I've seen so far is.. sad. I don't have any other word for it. and now that I've read what kirika and wolf wrote, I am nearly crying.

PeachesAndCream: if this had any other title besides Fallout 3, noone I think would mind what happened to this game. it would be "just" a video game. but, Fallout is not "just a video game". at least it shouldn't be.

Fallout 3 is just.... horrible. They changed the genre completely. Watching the E3 demo I'd better go buy something worth my money more than this absurdity...

but actually Fallout 2 was actually like Oblivion, it has longer sidestories than the real main quest.

Amongst the recent games, I am only satisfied with Bioshock's plot. It's brilliant. Almost everything else = meh~~ >:-(

Fans of the series are pissed that they bought the license, and decided to completely change every aspect.

Fallout 1-2 were unique in that they had no limits, and hundreds of ways to do something (You could beat the games withought killing/fighting a single person, if you played your cards right). Look at the trailer they were so proud of "You can decide when you want to fight! Oh, except here. We have to kill these guys to get by fights for 10 minutes straight"

It's like when they put out C&C generals, how Tib sun fans DOS'd ea's login server. Only this time, they're potentially ruining an oldschool classic.

Actually, some guys are EA are quietly working on other franchises, that I predict will be ruined. I know there are plans for Crusader, as well as Syndicate.
