It was pretty good...
It could've been better though, and it could've stayed more true to the Black Isle originals. Too bad the main quest was short and pretty damn retarded. Probably had one of the dumbest endings I've seen, especially since I had Fawkes who is immune to radiation with me.

But anyway whats up with the censorship these days. Fallout had problems in Australia, it didn't come out in India (lol gotta love those Brahmin), and now it got censored in Japan too.
It's not like you are forced to buy the damn game if you are easily offended.
Plus this is a game thats rated M. People under 18 can't legaly buy it. What's the problem?

Just make a new rating P for pussies, and keep the squeamish far away from M rated games.

I almost bought the game when my friend hyped me up over the phone, luckily I borrowed a copy from my Internet friends (sorry Bethesda, I got fooled once by buying Morrowind, and that's enough) and...

Well, it's a Bethesda game. Oblivion with guns. Nothing else.

It's nearly a week since I stopped playing and I can't get motivated to play some more. I loved FO1&2, and I've even played Tactics for a while, but to me F3 is a total fail in typical Bethe$da style.
It's not a game, it's an interactive movie, similar to Mass Effect. F3 is designed for chubby 10year old so much that it has no implemented option for hardcore gamers (who cares for those freaks anyway, right?). Very Hard setting gives you no fun and definitely no challenge, you just have to shoot a bit longer. And what's funny there's piles and piles of everything everywhere, so don't worry about ammo or stimpacks. Ah, and on V.Hard I just visited Three Dog, aside of that finished about 10 locations and guess what - I'm lvl 14! So, what, like... I'm halfway through the game? Surely not, it's only 10 locations, right?

And of course, no matter how poor gamer you are, you can still have maxed majority of skills on 13-14lvl, and even if you fail quest, don't worry - you'll still get a cookie (talking about survival guide, in which doesn't matter if you'll fail, reward is still there). There's no immersion, it's a game for an hour in the evening to feel kwl,pwning and roxorzz. I had 13% in Melee in the beginning in the Vault, and I smashed the s**t out of the armed guards using only a police baton (v.hard difficulty of course). But hey, 86% to hit, so why should I worry having 13% in Melee? 🙄
What made me laugh the most is that on the hardest settings you can watch how cool it is to hit 7 headshots into the enemy just to see him unaffected (like, no swaying, loosing conscience etc), and if you'll kill half of a city (i.e you are retard) - DON'T WORRY! Just come back there three days later and everyone will go "oh hey stranger, how you're doing?"
Ah, and if you'll ever break your leg - just take a nap and whooo! By the power of Bethe$da you're healed! Took three bursts of machine gun on your chest? DON'T WORRY - just drink some water and you'll be alright! This is FUN, right?

It is NOT my kind of game. No immersion whatsoever.
I grew up on Betrayal At Krondor, Fallout 1&2, PT:Torment and Gothic. Deus Ex is a good shooter/RPG. Vampire Masquerade - Bloodlines is another one, and kudos to all those who fixed and unbugged it, so I could thoroughly enjoy it (finished it three times within one month 😀 ). Those were computer games, nowadays all we have are interactive movies for casuals. I'd rather read manga instead 😀

P.S. And companions are a joke. I've found a Dogmeat, and he's a f** god on the battlefield. Two Talon Mercs are spraying rounds and rounds and rounds on him up close with machine guns with almost no effect, while I'm waiting for my AP to replenish, and take more headshots on them (obviously not bothered by the AI tailor-made for XXI century). As soon as I'll kill them, another miracle occurs - Dogmeat heals to 100% health, and also heals crippled limbs! So after 20 paces he jumps an another baddie, I'm taking headshots, etc. I also killed Mirelurk King like that, with only difference that I've used like 6 grenades on him, and of course my dog bravely took all the hits, yet still survived. Don't know what I'm there for, since he's so godlike...

I enjoyed the game more than I thought I would... I agree with a lot of what Guardian said, my main gripe is how much they dumbed the game down for the console tards... and increase in difficulty doesn't improve AI at all... how to beat a DeathClaw on very hard? Stand on a rock and shoot, he can't jump on the rock and therefore can't attack you... pretty stupid :/

Post-Apoc sim would be more apt as the story is very disjointed and no immersion whatsoever... I am still hoping that someone leaks Van Buren (original fallout 3 before the franchise got sold), as it was at 90% completion when the dev team got fired =(

Well, I thought that it was pretty good. I haven't played the first 2 Fallouts, but it does make me want to get them though.

Think thats all i hear is oblivion with guns.
It has the same basis of Elder Scrolls games like Oblivion. But we can all tell its completely different. Its a different game give it that. The RPG elements are sorta the same.. yea sorta!
Its loaded with content, and when i played it i always felt like it was a fight for survival. And learned... get a companion! (never used whatshisface... Dogmeat?)

And the game sure taught me a lot about the DC area. :3
And i have never played the previous Fallout games and enjoyed the third just the same as i would any other game.

Yeesh, I noticed a lot of glaring problems while I was playing it for the second time.

Like how you can't order Fawkes to go into the radiation-filled chamber to enter the code at the last part of the game even though Fawkes is IMMUNE TO RADIATION AND ITS' EFFECTS.

Or how you can't get some of your robot followers to do what you want to do in certain parts of the game even if you have 100 in repair and/or science.

It's still good, but seriously flawed in certain parts.

(Alot easier to level up in it as well, compared to Oblivion)

I thought it was ok, the best thing about it, is you can watch an enemy's head exploding in slow motion when you shoot them. It's fun, but I find it gets boring too fast.
