Last year, I was Steve from Blues Clues. I had a handy dandy notebook and everything! It was easy and fun at the same time. And everyone understood it too! (Who's Joe?)
My ideas maybe be a little innocent for your taste.
A "chick magnet" would be cute too. Get some of those yellow cotton things with googly eyes and stick them all over yourself.
Or you could be pregnant! O: That would be WAY fun! (:

lol i was thinking about michael jackson, although people might mistake me for a creeper, tho I do need a sequin glove and a sequin suit.

One of my favorite costumes was when my baby bro went as nuclear waste. He sprayed some glow-in-the-dark stuff in his hair and drew the nuclear symbol on a trash bag. Easy, cheap, scary, funny.

My liittle sister has come up with some of the most amusing costume ideas. She takes dance right near a thrift store, so she occasionally stops there and will find clothing that just gives her inspiration. My personal fave of hers was the pregnant housewife. She got a robe, a shower cap, some curlers, old fuzzy slippers, and stuffed herself with a pikachu pillow, lol. It turned out really great.

So, my suggestion would be to just go with the flow! Try going to a thrift store and see what crazy clothing you can find. You'd be surprised at what kind of ideas you can get. Most of my cosplay costumes even have materials from thrift store (I just recently bought scrubs to make my Kurapica costume, lmao. Of course, it DOES involve a lot of changing, but still, it's easier than starting from scratch when you've got little to none ability).

The creative costumes are always the best. There was a movie where somebody went as a Freudian slip, ie, put on a slip and wrote things like "you love your mother" on it. Of course, it's better to do something that people would understand.
