just wondering if anybody out there is or has been part of any manganime clubs through schools, w/e.

I tried one this year, but it reaked a little of lolicon to me so i'm gonna try a new one called something like the society for the refinement of polyvariable entertainment(genshiken, anyone?)

im hoping my stereotypical view full of yaoi girls, the random eechi guy, cosplay, and video games awaits me

I joined my school's anime club. I realised it was a mistake after I learned at least half of them had no idea what manga was.

Yeah I'm kinda ihn my school's anime and manga club. All we do is play ps2, yugioh/magic, or watch anime in the club room. There are also meetings for money making ideas like other clubs. However, I only stop by for 5min to say hi to all my friends and chat a bit before I leave.

Oh sure, there's a great one in my college. There's anime newbs, old guys who graduated years ago, and Yaoi fangirls (twin-cest must die!)

@xombiemonkey: That is so sad. Don't people at your highschool read manga? I saw Love Hina around school several times back in the day.

I wish our school had one, but the goddamn teachers aren't willing to waste their time being advisors to something "useless"

We had a Nihon Kenkyuu Kai in our university (a club all about japan) and I joined it in my first year just out of curiosity. I didn't re-join in my second year anymore. Those people take anime and manga waaaay too seriously... Otakus scare me.

Same here. (not that I'd do anything to make me stay more at school 😛 )

But oh well, I'm lucky to find two persons within 100 km range of me who know wtf manga is, so no clubs for me ;_;.
