It's true! Also, I've noticed that since I walk incredibly slowly, no one would possibly imagine me to be a rapist.

  1. I agree with the workplace thing. The discrimination. I've read that for every dollar a man makes, a woman makes 75 cents.

Alright I would like to clarify this issue because people who ***** about how woman earn less than men on average and flaunt statistics like that irritate me. First off yes, statistically speaking men earn more money than woman, and far more men hold extremely high level executive positions than woman. Now the reality which most people do not realize about these statistics is that they dont tell you much of anything. There are many factors that are not shown in these results, but I will just address two of them: The amount of personal/social life one is willing to sacrifice in order to get ahead, and the general attitude someone has to hold in order to progress quickly in a company.

The first factor I mentioned (sacrifice of personal/ social life) is fairly major. Some one who is going to try and aim to be a vice-president of a major corporation is not going to have time for much of a social life, and will need to be able to lead a hectic life style. Basically if the company says you are needed for an important meeting China in a week, and you have a friends wedding to attent while your away, the company gets priority. Furthermore, dont expect to spend much time with your family either, and you better be prepared to consistently work late, leaving little time for anything else. Remember in buisness there are atleast 1,000 other people with your exact same skills or better that are willing to work crazy hard to get a high level position, and you are competing with every single one of them.

The second factor I mentioned (attitude towards addressing issues) also plays a big roll in how you will do. Basically you are playing the "cover your own ass" game. Addressing issues in a way that most benifits your company isn't neccessarily what you want to do (despite what your wonderful compay mission statement says), its what is easiest and most benifical to you.

Anyways, while I feel there is no doubt SOME descrimination I doubt theres actually that much, because not only are there laws against this, the person who is responsable for highering or promoting you typically benifits directly if he makes good choices based on skill, so he is going to do his best to get the right people. There are so many other mental/physical differences and factors that play into these things that without more information these statistics have very little value for me.

Note: Oh and out of my 5 aunts and my mother, four of them work (or have worked for an extended period of time) a respectable and high level job ($100k/year+), except two because I don't see them very often and I'm not sure if they even have a job, or what that might be.

Note: Also these are figures of you parents earning for the most part, (I'm saying this because I dont see many people over the age of 24 here), where there was without a doubt much more discrimination in choosing your profession (or what university degree you would get if any)

#1 has to be periods, no question. Aside from the nuisance/mess factor, the pain can be quite bad & take many forms, from back ache & abdominal cramps to throwing up to headaches that last 3-4 days. The mood swing stuff sucks too - no matter how hard it may be to be around someone going through PMS mood swings, at least you can leave; the person experiencing the mood swings has no choice but to wait them out. 🤢

I don't really care whether people "expect" me to be a certain way so the stereotypes irritate me but don't bother me overly much.

Discrimination in the workplace also sucks. It is a FACT that women get paid less than men for the same work. I don't have a link to the figures, but I know I've read of recent reputable studies for the US showing that this is still true (though progress has been made).

Haha, like you should be talking. XD
I agree with TofuQueen, the moodswing-thing
is really irritating because half of the time
they're uncontrollable.

People expecting you to like shopping because you are a girl. I HATE THIS ONE. NO ONE LIKES SHOPPING! Think about it, the only fond memories of shopping involve the people you went with!

not true.
most sterotypes come from some people that did it and people asumed all people like that were the same...

 😛 🤢

I also beg to differ.
I love shopping, and I'm an addict.
This I will admit.

The hatred towards shopping
differs on personality.

Just because your a perverted pornofreak doesn't mean everyone else is.

I have plenty of female friends. I hate the fact that if I say that I want to be more than friends, we aren't friends anymore.

I want to be more than friends, but they never believe I just want to become their BFF. Just BFFs. cries

Trying to come up with something I actually hate about being a guy is actually really difficult, random boners really aren't too big a problem since just from my perspective, I never have noticed another guy with one so I doubt that anyone has actually noticed me when I had one, it can be a bit uncomfortable if it happens when you are wearing pants that are somewhat tighter at the waist though.

If I had to pick something that I actually hated it would be excess body hair that is not on the face, pretty much all the extra stuff guys get from the chin down, personally though I hate the hair that grows right between your chin and neck the most because its just so damn useless (and it gets all itchy after you shave it), at least the hair growing on your face can have a positive affect on your looks. Ass hair sucks pretty bad too, but I wont go into any detail on that.

On a different note, another reason for the disparity in earnings between the genders is HEIGHT. Taller people are seen as more apt to lead and so taller people men and women included, tend to be the ones to move up the ladder in terms of managerial positions at larger companies (not talking about becoming the manager of a McDonalds or something). Gender is obviously going to still play some role in that disparity, but most of the time a woman will get the same salary offer as a man when looking for a job, though there are some jobs where men are preferred, but those mostly apply to jobs like being a "sanitation engineer" (which actually pays about equal to being a teacher).

Having to go to baby showers. shudder Hours of torture and games like "guess the baby food" and "price is right baby edition" and when baby pictures come out they are not cute they look like hairless mice but you can't say that out loud.

  • purging memories now -
While I'm at it, wedding showers as well. Almost as bad and just as long.
