A friend told me just now that my drawings are "sort of crappy."

Which hurts my feelings.

Those are beautiful. It's a very unique art style and you should be proud of it. Keep it up and you can have a future in art. And I'm not just saying that. That's my honest opinion.

To me they look like they could be characters in an animated Tim Burton movie like Nightmare Before Christmas or The Corpse Bride. Did you draw any inspiration from movie's like that?

You ever seen the movie A Series of Unfortunate Events. I saw it and hated it. It didn't have the same dark sense of humor from the books and instead had a buncha goofy Jim Carrey crap. Not that I don't like Jim Carrey but he wasn't right to play Olaf. How does this relate to anything we're talking about? Well, originally it was gonna be directed by Tim Burton and would've had Johnny Depp as Olaf. woulda been soooooooooo much better.

The last ones not very good, and the coloring could definitely use work. Can you draw people in other positions or from different angles? From above? Below? With an arm extended? Can you draw them in different ranges of lighting?

What I'm trying to say is that while your drawings show ability, they are a little lacking in experience. Your drawing style is primitive.

Compared to what though? I would say probably about 6-7 on a scale of one to 10.

I have to say your drawings look a little bit messy with the lines, but I cant really judge that very well unless I know how long it took you to draw.

They also lack a 3D appearance in small spots in the drawings but appear more 3D in other spots and the contrast tends to hurt the look a little bit. Though as I said before, I cant really judge that fairly without a time frame for the drawing.

But considering your style is relatively your own and it, it doesnt look like you are just trying imitate a specific style like a lot of people do when they draw their favorite character and such, then I would have to say your drawing skills are pretty good. And it certainly looks like you can do much better than these.

yes, I definitely agree that while the drawings are not the work of a practiced artist, they do show potential and style.

They are just drawings I drew during class, before I got caught. >.< So...probably like...10 minutes each?

I can draw from different angles, but it takes more time and effort.

The coloring was reaaallllllly quick. I thought it looked plain so I colored it. Coloring is not something Im good at, I admit that. -.-;

Compare it to the average high schooler's.

Also, I usually draw in a quick pace because I get new ideas while I'm drawing ~ I definitly need to work on the bodies, and not scribbling, too.
