ppl seem to be talking bout foods they find hard to keep down. so - for me itd be the chewy cartilage in non-veg like chicken cant stand it.

Oh, I don't know if anyone here was had this...but there's a soup with bitter melon (which looks like a shrivelled up squash) stuffed with meat. Even the broth is bitter. I almost puked last time I had it. If anyone is told to eat it the first time...run away...just run away...

I made an egg & bitter melon dish last summer (or was it the summer before...?) that was actually pretty good. Not good enough to buy bitter melon again, but it wasn't bad.

I've heard that the taste of durian is good, but the smell is rancidly awful, so I've always been too chicken to try it. (That and the suckers are HUGE!)

Durian really depends on your mindset before you eat it.

I've went from likeing it, abhorring it to liking it again. The reason why I started hating it was because people kept saying it smelt horrible and would not go near it. This kinda changed my perspective of it and made it smell bad.

Thought of another one - peppers. Green peppers, red peppers, bell peppers, chile peppers, all are GROSS. I don't mind a bit of hot pepper (oil and/or ground) in things, but actual chunks of pepper of any kind - yuck.

...when I look at my "disgusting" foods, they sure look tame compared to what others have eaten! 🤣 I guess I'm pretty cautious about food because there are quite a few things I already know I just do not like at all, but I do try new foods as long as they don't have one of those hated things as an ingredient.

i agree, not only does it smell bad, it taste bad. also boiled asian pears in its own juices, its supposed to cure coughs and such but its so bitter it makes me puke.
